The only reason I am even giving this store two stars is because the ladies who helped me on the floor were very helpful. Otherwise, it would be one star. As for those who worked at the checkout on Saturday, September 2nd around 11:00am AND the manager, I was not impressed. I was asked if I wanted some makeup remover set they were trying to sell when I was at the checkout and I said, "No, thank you. I have spent enough money here already." My purchase total was around $150 and when asked if I wanted to sign up for an ULTA credit card, I simply asked if I could pay it off right there in the store and was told, "yes" by the girl who was running the checkout I was in. Because she said I could, I went ahead and signed up. She then proceeded to try to get me to buy the makeup remover set AGAIN since I was saving money when the whole point of me wanting to sign up for the credit card was to save me money. I also never sign up for a credit card that I can't pay off right away at the store. So, she charged the credit card, ran the transaction through, and when I asked if I could go ahead and pay it off with my debit card, she said, "it explains everything in the pamphlet how to pay it off." I said, "Well, I asked you if I could pay it off here and you told me I could." She then proceeded to tell me that she misunderstood what I said. (Yeah, right.) I then asked if there was any annual fee on the credit card and she said, "Sorry ma'am, I'm not sure." She then asked a girl running another register and she didn't know either!! What's even worse is they asked the manager and she also didn't know!! Luckily, I went ahead and searched through the pamphlet while I was still there and there is NOT an annual feel. Thank goodness for that. My biggest issue with this is these employees PUSH credit card sign ups yet know NOTHING about them. That is so wrong. You shouldn't be trying to push something you know nothing about. Educate yourselves, ladies. I think it's time for the manager or someone in your corporate office to set up an in service so you can better serve your customers. Read moreI am amazed by the quality of service at Ulta Beauty in Springfield, Illinois! I love going there! The customer service is excellent, from a first day employee I met, Sadie, a Benefit Specialist of only a few months in town, Alex, to the Retail Manager, Dovie. ALL of the employees are truly interested in helping meet your beauty, cosmetic, hair care, and skin regimen needs. Many of them have gone far above and beyond for me. They have encouraged products that work for me and tried them on me, while discouraging ones that weren't as flattering. They also truly promote the feeling of beauty from within and expressing oneself while having fun with getting ready. Thanks to the great customer service, I've tried many new things I probably wouldn't have dared before. And the compliments I get are amazing! So much fun! They also have brought the complacency out of my mother. She got an amazing brow tint from Alex for the first time and her brows have never looked better, especially with her now going grey, short and spunky with her hairstyle! She also stepped out of the box, and found a non-feathering lipstick by Too Faced Cosmetics, which has been a concern at her age. She tried two awesome new colors that she would have never tried, had she not been encouraged to in the store. Now, I can't find her without them on! Ulta Beauty in Springfield is the very best. I try not to go anywhere else! I'm a Platinum, loyal customer due to Dovie, Jocelyn, Sadie, Brooklyn, Alex, Hope, Madison and many others that are there to bring your inner beauty out! I went into the store looking for two products on the Ulta app that showed availability in the store. At first my mom and I didn't want to ask because we were looking for "Bush Balm" lol. The first person that we asked pointed us to a shaving section and after we all looked, she said if it wasn't there they were probably out of it. It was a 2-step kit that would save us $5 rather than buying the two products separately, and was a new watermelon scent. I asked another staff person and she just shrugged and said she didn't know. We had been desperate to get our hands on this stuff, so then I went up to the counter and asked...not sure if they can check for availability/stock, but she also just pointed me to the same shaving section. As my mom and I stood there rescanning the section, a friendly staff member walked up and asked if we needed help....we expressed that we were trying to find the product that showed online, and she took a good look and said "let me go check"...not long after she appeared with multiple boxes of it! My mom and I both purchased one! She even had two shopping bags for us to use. She was also able to help me find a Tarte product that I was wanting as well...her name is Courtney and she made our day, and because of her Ulta made two...
