KFC — Restaurant in Springfield

Dec 2024 update. This establishment has done a 180! Completely opposite of my last review. I placed an order online for a 7:20 pickup, I arrived about 7:38 and was told my order was not ready I would have to go inside to wait. I told the drive-thru woman that I could not go inside because I did not bring my cane with me. I asked if I could wait, she said that waiting in the drive-thru was not allowed, so I told her there was no one behind me so I wouldn't be holding up anyone, she again told me it was not allowed. I asked her if I could drive around the building and pull back through the drive-thru, she told me my order wouldn't be ready then either. WHAT?? HOW DID SHE KNOW THIS? My TOTAL order consisted of three chicken tenders, a side of coleslaw, fries and a soda.

Again she told me I would have to go inside to wait, again I told her I was not able to do that.

This is actually a very long and drawn out story, way too much to write everything. But eventually I drove to the side AS TOLD, to wait for it to be brought out, when I drove around the side, I could see inside the facility where there was "ONE" customer waiting and one employee sweeping. THAT'S IT! That customer waited quite some time, took their food and left. ME, after waiting 15 to 20 minutes, no exaggerating, I called inside to inquire. After explaining who I was and that I was still waiting, the phone magically was disconnected, I called back repeatedly where the phone was picked up and hung up on me several times before Just not answering.

Eventually someone stuck their head out, where I waved my handicap placard at them to identify my vehicle, the old limping man turned around and went back in. After a few minutes he came back out and said my order had been sitting on the counter waiting for me. AGAIN I said I was unable to get out of the vehicle and I was told to park here and wait. He came out and approached my passenger side window, I put the window all the way down and took the bag. EVERYTHING was ice cold, including the soda that obviously had not been sitting around for 20 minutes, because it was packed with ice.

I will never go here again.

The review below was placed 6 years prior to my last experience. _ They have some really fresh cooked food here, because it's always so packed with people, both inside and outside, in the drive-thru. Many times the food doesn't have a chance to cool down, which is awesome!

As far as take out/fast food goes, there is nothing better than VERY HOT take out.

That's how you know it's fresh and its always still hot by the time...

1/5 Stars - AVOID THIS KFC AT ALL COSTS! I'm still shaken as I write this review, months after the traumatic experience. It's taken me a long time to gather the courage to share my story, but I want to warn others.

My visit to this KFC was nothing short of terrifying. The moment I walked in, I knew something was off. The atmosphere was tense, and the staff seemed on edge.

But nothing could have prepared me for what happened next. A group of individuals burst into the restaurant, causing chaos and panic. The staff scrambled to respond, but it was clear they were overwhelmed.

I was terrified. The situation quickly escalated, and before I knew it, the police arrived, surrounding the building and shutting down the entire operation. I was trapped inside, fearing for my safety.

This wasn't an isolated incident, either. I've since learned that this KFC has been shut down by police multiple times due to similar incidents. The lack of concern for customer safety is appalling.

Needless to say, I will never set foot in this KFC again. The food may be finger-lickin' good, but it's not worth risking my life. If you value your safety, stay far, far away from this location.

Update I've tried to contact KFC's corporate office to report this incident, but so far, I've been met with silence....

Today was an unusual day when I visited this KFC the lime to get the food was long at the drive-thru which was fine with me it was a nice day and everybody was out however as I'm getting my food from the window there's a woman who steps up with a receipt and I waved her in to the window after I was done and she said to me that check your food they've been getting orders wrong all day and this is the second order for me that they've gotten wrong today so we checked out food everything was okay me to order however I'm driving along and my wife is going to make a plate to give to me as we drive along an excuse for feeding me while I'm driving on the highway I noticed the chicken taste different and the reason why the chicken tastes different because it tasted like chicken from home there was no taste of seasoning on the chicken it taste like something that I made at home I started to call back to the restaurant and tell the manager but I haven't gotten to that point and then I got the opportunity to do this review and I am letting it be known that that is the kind of day that I had at that particular KFC somebody dropped the ball and if I had the time I would have took it back I'm sure it was just a hiccup however it was too nice of a day to have to...
