I ate inside with my family, and we were the only customers at the restaurant when we ordered.
The man who took our order seemed nice enough, but kind of uninformed about his own menu. For example: he said combos do not include drinks, but he was standing in front of a sign prominently stating they do.
While getting a seat, I noticed that several tables were clearly dirty. During the entire time I was there, more than thirty minutes, none of these tables were wiped.
Our food took a while, but it arrived hot. However, my mom's three piece "hand-breaded chicken strips" arrived as a bunch of breast meat chunks fried in a breading for fish. Upon inquiry, we were told, "That's the chicken we were sent." It would've been nice to know that before ordering.
The chicken chunks were rubbery and nearly inedible. They tasted like grease and fish. The French fries? Fish. My hamburger? Fish. My dad's Coney dog? Believe it or not, also fish. Everything except our root beer floats, which were yummy, tasted like fish.
I understand that this is a Long John Silver's too, but surely not everything should taste like it was fried in cod. I've included a photo of what they're selling as...
Read moreI don't like to leave negative reviews, but my experience this time was not great. The service at the drive-thru speaker was slow. Moving the vehicles through was at a slow to moderate pace. The person at the window was very unfriendly. I smiled & said hi. It was met with "$32". Gave them my card, took a minute or two, then they gave my card back. I was putting it away, then turned to look, they were dangling my bag at me. I told them I was sorry with a smile...still nothing from them. I placed the bag in my seat and noticed they were holding my drinks out the window. Again, I smiled & said "I'm sorry again". Still they said nothing. Got my drinks and told them thank you again. They just closed the window.
Long John's, if you are charging $32 for 2 people to eat, I should have, at the very least, had service with a smile. Food was okay. One of my planks had been re-fried. You could tell by the color of the batter and the texture of the chicken in that particular plank. Very...
Read moreService is always lacking at the Clocktower store. I love the food, but at this particular location, we consistently have problems getting what we ask for. We're usually shorted, or receive something different from what was ordered. Yesterday, I had a coupon for 8 pieces of fish or chicken for $8.88. At the drive up I told them about the coupon and I wanted a mix. He asked what sides I'd like, and I told him. When I drove around to pick up my order, he told me it would be over $17. I showed him my coupon that said it should be only $8.88 He told me at that price it wouldn't come with sides, and I said that was ok, he was the one who had asked what I wanted. He and another worker continually griped at me about the sides, insisting I pay over $17 for his mistake, rather than letting me just have the meat without sides at the $8.88 price. I opted to forgo getting anything rather than endure more of...
