Edited 8/12/2022. Today was our third visit since this review was written four months ago. Today was the third time I ordered birria tacos. The first two times they came with onions and cilantro, were dipped in the cooking broth and griddle fried. They were also served with the broth on the side for dipping. DELICIOUS!! Today I ordered the SAME thing. They were served plain in corn tortillas w/o any of the garnishes and were not fried. I explained this to the very unfriendly bartender who for whatever reason was our server both times (we sat at a table in the bar area where others were also dining). He gruffly told me I ordered the wrong thing and took my plate away. I asked to speak to a manager who basically told me the same thing. She took $5 off our bill. Big deal. Don't know how I am expected to know the difference when I ordered the SAME THING the last TWO times I patronized this restaurant. Will NEVER return. PS- Noticed the restaurant was not as busy as usual this afternoon, maybe people are cooking at home or going to Taco Bell which would have been much preferable today! First review from April 2022- Stopped on our way home from a weekend visit yesterday afternoon. Shared a half pitcher of frozen Texana margs, the 'trio dip' (guac, pico, queso dip). I ordered chicken chimichangas. D ordered chicken tacos from the grill. Everything was delicious- promptly served and hot when it arrived which is a rarity these days. ...
Read moreThe manager, an owner (I assume, as she was 70 or so), and the staff conduct themselves like children. I went in with my service dog (who is a medical response dog and 15lbs) and had 4 or 5 people getting far too close for comfort; surprisingly, the staff/possible owner were the culprits. They asked us if he is a service dog, whether I'm disabled (they did that legally, but in poor taste), and that should have been the end of it, but they seem keen on writing their own laws!
I've been discriminated against before because MS isn't always too evident to uneducated, or able-bodied, people, but I've never had multiple staff members try to lie to me about federal laws. They tried telling me a service dog must wear a vest (no) and that I wasn't allowed in without it (also no) because it is against the law (a thousand times NO). They tried asking what my disability is and what he is supposed to do for service. THAT is against the law. My tiny, working dog not wearing a vest bought on Amazon.... that's very much legal.
I know some people are ignorant, but you can't be dumb AND criminal while running multiple businesses. If I lived in Ohio or was more litigious, I'd be suing these rude, uneducated, small-minded people. This place is apparently notorious for bad service and rude people, but that pales in comparison to flagrant disregard for the law and common decency.
If you hate disabled people and good service, maybe this is the...
Read moreI was in town and this was the closest Mexican restaurant near me. I saw the ratings for 4.4 stars, and I was thinking it must be good. I’m not from Springfield, Ohio so I didn’t know where to eat, so I kinda go to most places based on the ratings off of google. Plus all of the soul food and Caribbean restaurants were almost 30 miles away, and I just wanted some food that would fill my belly. So I go into the restaurant I noticed there was a lack of diversity and mainly people of no color and a lot of old ones at that. So it’s safe to say that the people who rated this a 4.4 don’t season their food to begin with and peppers and onions are flavorful enough for them (I also should have known that based on my ride through town). I must say for a person from out of state, you want to experience the different ways people prepare meal, and taste for the enjoyment. This was the absolute most generic, basic, bland Mexican food I have ever had in my entire life. I asked for beef nachos, thinking I would get all of the toppings for it, the waitress gave me cheese, beef and tortilla chips, no other toppings but the cheese and beef. My friend had the fajitas and he said the beef was very chewy and bland. I had chimichanga’s it was as if they didn’t make an effort at all with the preparation. Listen if you want some good Mexican food this is not the place. Drive the extra 30 miles and don’t waste...
