After reading a few of the most recent reviews, I see I am NOT IN THE MINORITY when it comes to experiences with this franchise location! I was going to my local McDonald's in Chatham but a popup kept telling me they were having issues with their expresso - I even called to confirm. So I checked other locations and this one on way West Wabash said it had it, so I called to confirm. The person answering sounded annoyed I would even bother and after saying "Yes, they did", I decided to go out of my way there for breakfast that would include the Peppermint Mocha. No one at order station outside but had a difficult time conveying what I wanted with staff. And instead of asking for App code, was told to just pull up to first window. Realizing the order went through as a Latte, I corrected when I paid. More confusion. Paid in cash and not provided a receipt and the price seemed more than what it should have been. Went to pickup window and was given my biscuit and gravy, and, my coffee. Pulled ahead and parked only to discover there was NO PEPPERMINT FLAVOR, and, I felt that nearly two inches of no coffee (see picture) seemed a tad off. No "have a great day" or anything. Kind of had an attitude IMHO. Shook/stirred it up and no peppermint flavor. Repeated and same outcome. Backed up and drove to speaker ordering station. Was told that he had seen peppermint go I to the Coffee but would redo it and I was to continue on to second window. Got to window and was being told I was wrong but he had put two shots of flavor into this one and basically argued about it, and, seemed agitated that I was trying to give them back the first one that had no taste, other than bad... . Pulled back into parking area, used the knife from the biscuit and gravy to stir it up and caught the faint hint of peppermint. Had to add sweetener as to me at least, it tasted like c**p. At least thus one was only 1.25" of coffee, where as the other was missing nearly 2+" of coffee. No I drove in from Chatham to this location instead of ordering there and was not happy with quality, nor the service(s). And, believe I was overcharged ($4.86) even though I used a coupon. I can safely say, it will take some effort for me to ever return to this location as IT WAS TRULY A BAD EXPERIENCE ALL-AROUND. Very sad.

I've eaten at McDonald's in three continents, and in Springfield, IL I found the worst one I've ever seen. The employees here were rude, arguing with each other, and all were obviously unhappy. The place was filthy, with fries and napkins scattered everywhere. I waited forever for my food, and while waiting witnessed them selling ice cream desserts to people in the drive through even though the machine was broken. People would pay for these desserts then get to the window and the window employee would loudly tell them the machine was broken. The customer would ask for their money and the manager would curse and stomp around and give them a refund. My food was sloppily made. Never go here, until they can fix the whole store.

How can it be that a McDonald's worker, who prepares part of the food, enters the bathroom with the kitchen apron on? The only thing that causes is contamination of the apron and the apron will contaminate the food, because he doesn't even change his apron when he goes back into the kitchen. A cook should never enter the bathroom with the kitchen apron on because the bathroom is contaminated, contaminations that will stick to the apron and the apron will stick to the food that we consume as customers.

I takes a lot for me to leave a review. I try to only leave positive reviews for places that impressed and deserve it, but this location truly . . . baffles me. It has taken me about a month to collect my thoughts on this subject.

I have had my fair share of McDonald's, and it's always been (even at it's very worst) "fine". This location is the only place that has ever served me food that we literally could not be in the same room as, let alone eat.

The mcnuggets and fish filets were cooked in what must have been the dirtiest fryer oil in history. They tasted and smelled like, well, bitter awful fryer oil. The breading which is usually golden brown was a weird cool-toned dark grey color. I know it sounds like I am being overly dramatic, but it was SO far beyond "dirty". It was probably as dark as motor oil and smoking DAYS before they dumped my nuggets into it.

The fries were luckily cooked in a different fryer, but that was seemingly accomplished HOURS before they were served to me. They were rock hard and were jokingly described at the time as "elderly".

We got a couple hamburgers too, and somehow they tasted like the black fryer oil too! I don't know how that is even possible, like maybe they tossed the patties in the fryer to rewarm them? I'm just speculating though.

The spoiled burnt oil stink lingered in my car, and I had to push my garbage can down to the street so my garage wouldn't reek. It was bonkers. I find it very hard to believe someone made that food, packaged it up, and was like "PERFECT! They are gonna love this. Go me!" Anybody who has ever even seen food before would know that looking and smelling like acrid bitter toxic sludge isn't what we're shooting for in our fast-food items.

I went there once just to get a coke (we all know it's 1,000 times better at McD's), but they said they were not accepting credit or debit cards. I said that was fine because I had cash, but they stopped responding to the drive-thru.

Some nights they just turn all the lights off at like 8:30. I think they just want people to think it's closed.

Last, but CERTAINLY not least, (based on personal research alone) this location has quite simply NEVER had ice cream or shakes. Ever. I know the machines are hard to clean or service or whatever, but in the 3 years I have lived near this location I have YET to receive a positive response to the question "Is your ice cream machine working?" I think some customers take their milkshake-denial-frustrations out on the employees because usually they just hang up on you when you ask.

I give up, but I will always wonder what is going on in there.

Thank you for coming to...

Last night I had just gotten off a 12 hour shift. I stopped by to grab myself dinner and grab cookies for my children. I ended up paying $17. For my meal I asked for a large drink as well as fries with my combo. For the cookies I ordered 6. When I received my meal I trusted that I didnt have to open up each container in there(lesson learned). My large fries were literally filled only halfway. My double quarter pounder did not even have the top part of the bunn it! It was open faced. And I literally paid for 6 cookies and only recieved 3. The sweet barbecue chicken strips had 3 strips and not 4. I was frustrated and irritated as I did not eat lunch yesterday. So I was to tired as well as to hungry to get off the highway and go back through that long line in the drive through. I was also, to tired to call up there. I have never called a store to complain. In fact I have never written a review for any fast food restaurant! Which goes to show just How irritated I was and still am. I handed over 17 dollars of my hard earned money for a: large container of small fries, a mildly warm horseshoe sand which, half the amount of cookies I paid for, and 3/4 tender! To top it off I tried to have the order split up as it was too different ones. The lady appeared aggitated per my request, and applied payment to the card first. When I asked her not to! She ended up charging the whole thing to one card. It is no big deal, however it is the way she did it not so much as...
