We were treated awful by the manager (black hair, olive complextion & glasses) name unknown, never noticed a name tag...got one on? He has been mean 4 times so far... He is very rude, obnoxious and loud.. He enjoys being loud in front of customers for attention and trying to embarress the customers!! And if you call guest services they do not care how their employee's treat the customers at all... The older woman on the phone outgrounded everything I said and would not let me get a word in edgewise, she was very rude and kept loudly puffing when I got to speak.. I'm the one who called to make the complaint not her...she should listen! I am sick and tired of getting treated this way, he likes to agrue too in front of all customers!! Our food is cold alot also...dont you dare as a customer go to the counter to say the food is cold bcuz this is HOW he started the problems and then treats you awful... We eat out alot at night all over this town.. We have never had a problem anywhere BUT Culvers at 4400 W. Wabash Ave, Springfield, IL. We are very well liked everywhere we go.. So therefore this manager has the problems, displaying narcissist behaviors... "Will not return!" Wanted to add, An employee named "Hirshel" is an outstanding employee, very hard worker and very kind.. You will be very much missed! Good luck to you through your life and maybe we will cross paths again one day! (Thing 1 &...
Read moreCulver's, in my opinion, is a cross between a fast food restaurant and a regular sit-down restaurant.
The best thing about Culver's is the high quality food that is excellently prepared. The butter burger is hard to beat in taste. There are probably well over 50 establishments in Springfield. As far as just burgers are concerned, based on taste and quality, based on food and preparation I rate the top 5 as: 5 - Freddy's; 4 - Culver's; 3 - Steak and Shake; 2 - Kreckels, and 1 - Home made.
But Culver's is so much more than the burgers. Their Pork Tenderloin sandwich, chicken sandwich, cod fish sandwich and pot roast are all great. My favorite though, is their 3-piece cod dinner.
As far as drinks go, their diet and regular rootbeer, served with no ice, is fantastic...as far as rootbeer goes. It ranks up their with the best. Their shakes are fantastic.
Culver's ice cream and similar products are wonderful.
Service in normally good. Servers are kind and respectful. However, one time I got someone else's food in the drive-through. Twice, a food item was missing. One was a dinner roll that comes with the cod dinner. Another time, my onion rings were missing. I love Culver's fries and Onion rings, so I was very disappointed. Given that said, when I have called they were very friendly and apologetic, and had the items ready when I went back to get them. I have since always checked my food ...
Read moreAudrey was a new trainee, training on the register with Sam. Both were helpful & pleasant & patient, as we were not familiar with the vast menu. The order was placed, condiments were retrieved and seat was found. The restaurant was equipped with regular sized booths (2-6 people) as well as small booths for 2. The food came hot, quickly, and correctly! I had the fish dinner, so I went back to the counter to ask for Malt Vinegar; I specificallywent back to Audrey& Sam. Audrey did not know what Malt Vinegar was, or what it was used for. She informed me that she did not know and that "it is a 'Sam question. '" I thought she might not know, which is why I sought them out. Sam and I were able to inform and teach Audrey about Malt Vinegar and expand her knowledge of product and usage! The food was excellent. I also had a Root Beer Float, which was one of the tastiest and creamiest I have ever had!!! All the staff was pleasant and friendly. Reese was working the dining room and made a point to come to us and ask how everything was. Reese also suggested and explained to us how to do the online survey, which we did right there at the table. I had a wonderful overall experience as a first time visitor. If we had Culver's in my area out in California, I would DEFINITELY be a frequent visitor!...
