It is quite difficult to accurately review a quick service restaurant because we too often base our conclusions on one visit. In this industry that visit can be spectacular or horrible and it not reflect the reality of the restaurant. Too many things can affect it, did a team member not show up, did the person ahead of you have a big order, did they just come out of a major rush (busy time). Because I worked in the industry for over 20 years I choose to base my review on what sort of culture (working environment, hospitality, sense of urgency, the parts of the restaurant that should not be affected by outside forces) the restaurant has been built and doing that requires multiple trips. This particular McDonalds (from a guest point of view) has a horrible culture. The team members (and managers) far too often look sloppy and disheveled, if the cashier is doing non service related tasks the guest still has to wait for them to finish the task before they can order, the words "thank you" seems to have been erased from the vocabulary of all employees (during my multiple visits I have been the only person to thank anyone. The management doesnt even thank me let alone their team members) and finally the lack of sense of urgency is of extreme concern. This team doesn't understand the importance of moving quickly to serve the guests needs, it is obvious and damming. It is one of the worst criticisms that I, as a fast food manager, could ever hear about my team. For me, I will no longer visit this location. I would rather drive a few miles down the road when my McDonalds...
Read moreSome locations are better & worse than others... Jefferson can be decent but their ice cream machine is down a lot.
South 6th is better, but closed while I was sitting at the drive-up recently after the electronic greeting & a several minute wait. If you're out that way, you have many options & the Taco Bell rocks with enthusiastic help & decent prices.
I avoid Chatham Rd location after I sat at the outside lane speaker while 4 or 5 customers went through in the inside lane. I drove around, parked & ordered on the app, which estimated 7-mins. 20-MINUTES later, I went inside to find out the robot filled my drinks, but noone followed through with my order right there on their monitor! Hell NO!!
The WORST is South Grand at 6th St. Strike 3, they are out! 1 & 2) Twice recently they were only taking cash. 3+) Another time they didn't have Sprite, so I asked for a McFlurry & their ice cream machine was down. I said, "I forgot this location sucks... Goodbye!" This place is filthy, inside & out. Panhandlers hang in the parking lot (North Grand East too).
McD's is NOT "fast" food, it's not cheap, the service usually sucks & it...
