I went here on May 11, 2019 saturday at about 3:30 pm. It was the shop and hop weekend in which several area stores were doing a fun day that consists of going to each store on the card. You get the card punched at each store. It was mother's day weekend. After you visit all of the stores you are entered in a drawing. We were saving this one for last because I was very excited to try it because I had seen pictures online and it looked charming. My husband and I walked into the store and there was a heavy set blond haired woman to the left at the register. She was nicely dressed and makeup done perfectly. We noticed she had a stack of the cards and we asked her if she could stamp ours. She asked how she could help us yet seemed bothered that she was going to stamp the card. The stamp or whole puncher was at the very end of the counter and my husband said "Well I guess we could really do it." I went to do it just because she seemed so bothered by us. She heard my husband suggest it and didn't say a word so I went to do it. I figured it was okay sinve she didn't tell me not to do it or that she would. She grabbed it out of my hand and said very rudely "We have a code." She then took both card and punched them for us and said "I see this is your last stop so you can turn them in here." She rudely handed us a pen and then was very friendly to the next people approaching the counter. This made me feel unwelcome so I did not feel like turning in our cards. We just left. It hurt my feelings. They lost my business because of this. I really wanted to love this place but after being treated like this I didn't feel they derved my business. The only think I could think of why I was treated this way is because I had on a tye dye shirt. I make my own tye dye. I find it artsy but perhaps she thought I looked poor and that I wasn't going to buy anything anyway. I was disappointed in this experience. All of the other stops on the card were welcoming. It's a shame I really wanted to try the carrot cake and expresso. It did look very...
Read moreAfter four separate date days with the SO, over some number of months, I feel confident I've given this phenomenal group every opportunity to fail; Yet, they are as near perfect as anyplace could be. The atmosphere is whimsical, courteous, and vibrant. The service is always kind and genuine, a sadly rare find. We usually have Suzie (got her her first week and she was impeccable) but today were treated to Lexi who managed to recreate sublime work with her own style. The eccentricity of the place is enforced by both the sincere and stylish workers as well as the menu. Ordinarily, I would be daunted by ordering anything from a comfortable pick, sticking with the usual menu landmarks. Of these, however, this kitchen is blessedly bald of. Instead you will try something new to you, or atleast something with the same name but a brand new, thrilling, and delectable flavor. I always get the soup of the day, each time different from the last, and ALWAYS incredible. The mushroom soup is every bit as good as you would believe, and even in a slammed 4 hour rush, the food will come out quickly, cleanly, and always to your delight. Enough cannot be said about the consistent quality spanning from the Humboldt hot brown (you will know what a turkey sandwich could be, forever more), the Florentine chicken crepe (I nearly cried) or my all time favorite in the monte Cristo (The real classic). Do yourself a favor and order anything that comes in a mug, particularly a fanatic about their Paris in a cup coffee. If you're ever lucky enough to be nearby when that kitchen is open, let nothing stop you from the finest lunch in Springfield and a bakery that will have you digging in the box before you get back to your car. You guys are the best, thank you from...
Read moreThis tearoom has a lively and whimsical atmosphere with a lot of color. It is bright, colorful and cheerful; the perfect place for tea time! The coffee is strong and rich. We also tried the signature white tea, and it was crisp and fruity without being too sweet or cloying. The mushroom soup is very much worth the buzz; rich and savory, with a creamy consistency almost like a chowder. The soup of the day during our visit was a poblano and gouda - we added a cup of soup to our entrees to try both, and were not disappointed by either one. Our waitress was attentive but unobtrusive while she took care of us. I had the vegetable crepe, which comes in a cream sauce very similar to the aforementioned mushroom soup. This was a surprisingly hearty and savory meal that could easily suit vegetarians and meat eaters alike. My husband went for the Monte Cristo, and found that the salty and sweet combination of the meats and cheese along with the funnel cake-esque bread worked perfectly together, especially when the raspberry sauce was taken into consideration. Overall this is an excellent spot to grab some lunch if you're looking for something different than your standard sandwich shop fare (although there are some enticing sandwiches available as well). There's a large selection on their menu including vegetarian options. Definitely check out the tea served here, as they have quite a few interesting flavors to choose from. We very much enjoyed our visit here, and look forward to going...
