Off Kilter Coffee — Restaurant in Springfield

Off Kilter Koffee has been my stop for coffee before work each morning for the last year or so and for good reasons. The quality and grade of coffee bean they use would be good on its own, but the baristas truly know how to bring out the full flavor in their drinks. On top of that, I've never encountered a coffee kiosk, or coffeehouse in general, that has baristas as prideful of their work and craft, nor as friendly and charismatic as Off Kilter Koffee's. I always look forward to kick starting my morning knowing I'll have a friendly conversation and a hot, tasty beverage to wake me up. The owner and staff have done a great job in transforming Off Kilter into a great addition to Springfield's Main St. stretch. For those of us who don't like the sugary drinks that taste like off-brand M&Ms melted in warm milk on a hot sunny day, we look for simplicity in our coffee. Any place can throw 95 grams of sugar into sand or mud or worse and I promise it'll taste just like your favorite drink from your average overpriced joint.

But Off Kilter Koffee? They have those drinks too, which are great and not too overdone like other "local" bro's but to really judge a place you have to go in there and ask for their house coffee. No added milk, sugar or cream. Just straight up black coffee. Do it. I dare ya.

That's how I like my coffee most of the time and these guys have it down. It's not overly hot and burnt, which makes the taste unique and satisfying. Judge them by their bare bones. They get an A. Come back for their sugary stuff if...

Edit: this place took new ownership and they painted over the super cool mural and now looks lame and coffee was actually not too good. We are very sad the new place is so diffrent and not what we were hoping for. Good bye Off Kilter. You were amazing and it is a shame this place went downhill after.
