I really enjoy trying new small business coffee places rather than chains. I've never heard of this coffee shop before and I just happened to be in Springfield at the Tag office and pulled them up on Google and gave them a try. They weren't busy when I arrived and I was greeted by I believe to be the owner when I walked in which was very nice. The cashier, maybe she was new, but she was very distracted by other employees and customers talking around her. She couldn't focus on me while I was giving her my order, she also wasn't fully familiar with the menu items which is fine because everyone is new at some point when having a job. She did inform me that you can't get the frozen drinks with an alternative milk like soy, coconut, or almond because their base is made of 2% which was disappointing but if that's how they make their frappes then I had to try something else. So I chose an iced white mocha instead, I ordered a pesto chicken wrap, and a muffin. The coffee itself was not good. I was hopeful and drank it, stirred it hoping to get a better taste and the coffee brand/grounds just doesn't taste good, and that's just my opinion, others may really enjoy the coffee here. The pesto wrap.... you can't taste any pesto at all, just tasted like a chicken Caesar, which was fine but I ordered it because I love pesto. Wrap by itself is $10. The muffin, expresso chocolate chip, was very moist but lacked expresso but I would definitely order again because it was still good. While I waited on my order I was very observant of the staff. There was so many people behind the counter and the area behind the counter is not a big area. Was a bit over crowded and almost all of them looked to be teenagers. I watched as they took orders from other customers and there's no personality, enthusiasm, or genuine attempt for a warm connection with the customers. The only person who was kind, attentive, knowledgeable and hard working was the owner herself. I would love to give this place another chance and try something different as they have a big menu of items to choose from. This truly boils down to the younger generation of kids who don't know how to give good genuine customer service. I have been in the service industry since I was 14 and this new generation coming up is very disappointing to society and many would agree. Their work ethic is unmatched to millennials and the ones before. Kudos to the owner as she is a hard worker and I hope business continues to thrive for her at this little coffee shop.

Whenever I visit a new spot, I get a bit of enjoyment from reading through the good, the bad, and the ugly reviews, just to see how my experience might stack up against other visitors. For Puddles Coffee, I have to say, the biggest standout so far isn't my quad oat milk iced latte or my avocado toast—it's the owners' thoughtful and well-worded responses to 1-star reviews. Bravo, just bravo. I've traveled all over the country, and I always skip the highway chains for local gems where I know the people will be friendly and the ingredients fresh. Puddles Coffee definitely fits that description. The place was packed when I arrived—a line to the door, tables full of people enjoying their weekend. A good sign! The young woman at the counter, with red hair and a sunny smile, took my order. My iced latte was a touch warmer than I like (I usually request a full cup of ice and forgot to mention it this time), but the flavor was fantastic. The Deluxe Avocado Toast was also incredibly flavorful and satisfying. On top of the quality, the value really impressed me. Where I'm from in Vermont, my coffee alone would cost as much as my coffee and meal today! I paid the better part of $12 today when one of my favorite cafes in Vermont would be the better part of $20. With a lot of work to do, I was glad to find a bright, welcoming atmosphere and bar seating by the windows with convenient plug access. Food, service, and atmosphere are essential for any coffee shop, and if I lived nearby, I’d be a regular here! I'll be in the area for the next six months, so they might see me again. Highly recommend for dining in or working remotely—just keep in mind, it's a busy spot on Saturdays!

Supporting local is important, and the lack of quality of the local Starbucks makes it even easier. I’ve been coming here for several months now, mostly just for their London Fog. It’s my absolute favorite and nobody else has come close. On this particular morning, after getting the kid off to school, the wife and I took some time for ourselves and came here for breakfast. Of the choices available, the Homebody seemed to be the obvious choice, and it was. A toasted Asiago bagel with cream cheese, bacon, fried egg, tomato, and onion. My wife got a regular breakfast sandwich, but after seeing mine and trying a bite, she was filled with regret. So as I sit here writing this review, we await a second Homebody that we are going to split. In conclusion, Paddles is worth the stop.

This review isn't about what they serve but how they treat the people who provide a service to them. I am a FedEx employee and had a terrible experience at this coffee shop. I was coming to the back door to deliver packages when an employee came out the back door so I continued to pull the dolly with packages only to have the door pulled closed on me. My foot jammed into the dolly due to me trying to avoid the door hitting my face. I opened the door and she was telling another employee what she did while laughing so I told her she almost hit my face pulling the door close on me. She laughed and so did the other girl. I continued to drop off the rest of the packages and then went to management (or owner) to advise them on the situation that just occurred. She told me she didn't think she meant to do that so I assured her she did based on the laughing in my face. She just say oh.... no apology or anything. This is unacceptable as a business and human beings to mistreat people and think its ok. I was informed that this route had some nasty people on it but I never expected it from a business owner. Very disappointed šŸ˜ž and just want to remind them of the OMNIPRESENCE OF GODā€¼ļø Nothing goes unseen so you will always get back what you put out into the universe.

Not sure why you are confused because I was very clear on the situation. The fact that now you are telling me your employee was upset by the way a spoke to her is gaslighting at its finest. What comments???? Telling you what she did and informing you that I felt it was intentional since she laughed in my face? I'm glad you contacted FedEx so you can show the video. :) According to her she greeted me; that is false. I greeted her with no response. It was impossible to be reaching for a door while pulling a dolly loaded with boxes so that is false but you should see that on camera. I never said there was any contact, I said the door almost hit me in my face and I jammed my foot on the dolly trying to avoid it. I place every box inside the building; they moved it from the hall into another room. Now you're claiming I made her nervous so that is why she was laughing so was the other employee nervous also? To sum this up I will say this... I have been polite to everyone on my route and have great business owners I deliver to. You will not bully me into not speaking the truth. You said you will be sure to let the other business owner know that the local FedEx contractor considers "US" to be nasty towards their drivers and I'm now confused on who the "US" is. Unless you mean you and your employees because this has nothing to do with other businesses. That statement clearly shows that your way of dealing with this is to try to rally other businesses to make my job miserable/hard despite not even being on this route a whole week. Very interesting.... a simple apology could have fixed this situation but I see that is too much for you all. I wish you all...

I love this place and I would typically give 5 Stars across the board, but the last 3 times I have visited, I have left disappointed and frustrated. The first visit, we got our coffees rather quickly and were waiting on them to warm up 3 pastries, which after trying to patiently wait 10 plus minutes, I finally went to the counter and they had been sitting on the back counter the whole time. So I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, because sometimes we all have off days. On the second visit, which was a week or two later, we went and placed a similar order of frappes and pastries, and the same thing happened. One of the coffees were made wrong but that was corrected fairly quickly, but again we waited for the pastries to just be warmed up, which this time we waited 15 plus minutes and when they finally called our name, we grabbed our bag only to notice they hadn't been warmed at all. The part that has me particularly frustrated is in all instances the excess wait has been unnecessary, considering we didn't even order food that had to be prepared just warmed and then they have either just forgotten or didn't do it at all. The third visit was exactly the same, except this time I tried to order online and even gave extra time for them to prepare it and we still waited almost 20 minutes to then tell us they didn't have the sugar cookie we ordered or any cookies for that matter except one oatmeal, which at that point, why did they wait so long to even tell us. I really don't want to stop coming and I really have tried to be patient but after 3 times of almost the same thing happening even when its not busy, it has become frustrating because its like they don't even care they "forgot". I really hope this gets resolved because this is an awesome little coffee shop, but the customer service needs a...
