We walked in really excited to try this restaurant as it's close to home and looks nice. Our expectations were far too high. We were seated at a table that was extremely close to another table. I then moved the table to get some room and noticed the amazly wobbly table held up by about 12 total coasters. We decide to just move to a bar seat. I asked to see The beer list and the waitress tells me they don't have one. She asked me to mention what beers I like, We then decide on one and then she hands me the non-alcoholic version of it that I did not want and they don't have the alcoholic version of it. We ordered the steak and the salmon with the premium sides. I can't tell you how bad this was. The steak was not cooked correctly nor seasoned. The mashed potatoes were amazingly horrible. They blended cheese, garlic and what has to be instant mashed potatoes together for the garlic mashed potatoes, It tastes like a chemical spill. The brussel sprouts weren't fully cooked far from grilled and had no seasoning. The salmon I ordered was way overcooked. The term nursing home food will be associated with this restaurant as that's what it tastes like. The manager was really good and agreed that there were massive problems. Our waitress was amazingly uncaring And when we asked her about our food, before we got the manager, not tasting good she just said that's how it comes out.
After this kind of experience you kind of look around. Try to figure out what's going on. This is a really nice looking restaurant .We noticed that most of the waitresses were on the much younger side and would appear to be only two men were on the floor and one of them was a manager and I assume the other was the owner. Then I started looking at the reviews for this amazingly rated restaurant. Then I noticed that they had ran some contests to counteract all the bad reviews that they're getting.
In conclusion, this restaurant knows how bad of a job they're doing, they know how bad their food is, they know how bad their service is and They're focusing their efforts to maintain good reviews not cooking good food And delivering good service. This restaurant has potential, but I don't think it's going to be realized for...
Read moreOk. Yesterday I went to REBAR thinking that I’d try a new place in Springfield and send some people their way.
WRONG!!! First off, this is no reflection on Olivia & Taylor, my servers/Bartenders, they were great. But sitting at the bar listening to the (one of) owner brag to their friends about how great their food is, and how they have servers from every restaurant in town begging to come aboard.
To those servers. STAY WHERE YOU ARE AT!!
Their bar is very poorly stocked. I’m sure that would improve in time, but time is not on their side. I ask for 3 separate fairly easy drinks, a rye old fashioned (they only had Bulliet 🤮) an Amberbok, and a Dos Equis Amber, I ended up drinking tea and lemonade. No big deal. They are new, and still learning what their cliental wants.
But the food. Holy cow. I ordered their Barr Burger. It was nothing but a massive stale bun with what appeared to be a preformed burger patty that was way too small . And a few little pieces of some type of crumbled cheese that looked like feta. NOT pepperjack as the MENU INDICATED. According to the server, they don’t even have pepperjack. No fried onion strings as the menu indicated. Let’s be honest. A McDonalds Quarter Pounder would have been an improvement. Then I upgraded my fries to the Parmesan Truffle fries at an additional cost, only to recieve what would be at any other facility less than a 1/2 order with a couple tiny sprinkles of Parmesean. It is unbelievable that I paid $15 for the burger & fries, and was completely disappointed.
The the wings. I ordered the Korean Gochujang wings. Well, for wings, they do use a decent wing, and it is thoroughly cooked. HOWEVER, they appear to be cooked in some sort of sealed bag fashion. The skin is not crisp at all, but limp and chewy. Like they were sealed in a bag and dropped into boiling water for a period of time, then tossed in their sauce. Yes, that might be healthier than frying, but when it comes to presentation, and flavor, I DONT LIKE IT.
Bottom line, this places food doesn’t even hold up to their own menus description, much less any sort of...
Read moreLet's start with the online menu shows they offer a ribeye but the actual restaurant menu only offers sirloin steak. Next, we will get to the server. She was the worst part of our experience. When ordering, we asked if we could get mayo for the burgers. She stated she wasn't sure they had any but would check. When our food arrived we once again inquired about mayo and we were told they don't have any. Asked her for honey mustard and she said they also don't have this. I followed up on FB with owner/manager and was informed they did have mayo but were out of HM that night. Our server lied to our faces for no reason other than not wanting to do her job because she would rather sit at a table in the center of the dining room with her friends and eat her own meal. Our food came up before she finished her meal and she proceeded to handle our dishes without washing her hands. Even more disappointing is the response from the manager/owner on FB. They said, "If you give it a year before we close I’m sure we won’t be able to serve you again and make things right. Take care John." The food was good but it wasn't worth driving across town for. To add to the bad experience, rather than show different games and sports on the TV's, they decided to turn off the NBA playoffs game and turn all TVs to the same baseball game. I was looking forward to this place and so disappointed. I stand behind my statement they likely won't even make it a year. The last time I had an experience like this and received a similar response, I said they won't make it long and less than a year later they are closed. No excuses for employees blatantly lieing to customers. No excuses for employees committing health code violations. No excuses for the lack of effort to reconcile the experience. No excuse for changing all TVs to the same baseball game. I understand the restaurant is new but the owners are not new to the business and should have invested more time in proper training. I would be willing to give them another chance in a few months IF they...
