I have shopped here for several years. In addition, I also worked for Price Cutter (the parent company of Food For Less), for a year. I have always been pleased with Food For Less, until tonight. It was not entirely the employees fault, however, the cashier had a customer with a difficult transaction. (Won't go into details, but it was a pain.) However, because of said customer, we stood in line for over 10 minutes (being the 4th customer in line, this was ridiculous, considering none of us but the difficult customer had more than 10 items and in that time, she only got the difficult customer through). While dealing with said customer, the cashier also had to stop the only other line which was open to have overrides (because the other person had the register key). When I got in line, there were roughly 4 of us at each register, when I finally got checked out, there were 15 in my line alone. Rather than call another employee to the front (which having worked for the company, I know the do NOT hesitate to do), both women held up both lines for entirely to long. Granted the only reason was for this difficult customer, but they could have handled the situation in a way which did not cause the other customers to wait so long. They lost 3+ transactions in that time, irritated multiple other customers, and all because neither of them could be bothered to call for help. (Which, btw, there was an employee behind me in line, and I know personally the conpany has no problem asking off the clock employees to clock on and help.) I will compliment the front end manager (I assume) at the time (roughly 6:00pm on Monday, April 15), she tried very hard to get both registers moving by "operating" both to the best of her abilities. This was all made more frustrating by someone calling for customers to her line (a 3rd line) the second I walked through the first set of doors. Overall, this will greatly taint my opinion of the store, and I will think twice before...
Read moreI had to come on here and let you all know this place is pretty great. I'm not sure whats up with the negative reviews because I come here twice a week. They have some insane deals. They don't have the same repeated deals they just have amazing daily deals as well as low prices on most items.. loads of organic items and expensive salads are super cheap here...NOTHING is going bad at all! the produce and fruit is fresh as can be, a huge selection. I usually have to hit 2 stores to get everything I need for meals but this store saves me money big time. I even drive across town to come here. I am a grocery store snob coming from California they have many options of amazing stores.. Not everything is cheaper here than Walmart but almost everything is. We have decided to try to make authentic international foods from different countries recently.. This week we are making Schwarmas and Spiced Chick Pea Salad with Lemon Rice and yogurt marinated bbq chicken.. most the food I got from this store for this delicious meal. They also have a good cat food selection, large alcohol section, lots of mexican foods and cheeses.. they carry almost everything.. The shopping carts are big and always handed directly to me by the employee as I enter the store. no other store does this! I've gotten super cheap compost and potting soil for my flowers in spring time.. I just love food 4 less.. and if you don't your clearly not a foodie looking for...
Read moreI think I've gone to this store since I was a kid. I like how it seems to be bigger than a Sam's club & you don't need to pay annual fees to carry a card to go shopping like at Sam's club. Food 4 less seems to take in a lot of different inventory from different places. So you end up with a really wide and different variety each time you show up. I love this store but mainly I just shop there to rebel against Walmart. Although it is better than Walmart.
Think about it like this Walmart, CVS & Walgreens are all owned by The Walton family I'm quite certain. I think all those stores are owned by like maybe 8 people. So it's not like when someone owns a KFC and then they pay franchise fees to the company to call their building a KFC. So when these billionaires pop up these strange alien phantom buildings without present owners. They're running the closest thing we have in this country to a triopoly or a Monopoly. The Walton family hurts independent businesses or you could make the argument that it flat out destroys the independence of business owners. Also Walmart's generic brand "great value" is so horrible. I'd take "Best Choice" any day. Although a lot of independent stories carry "always save" it is pretty bad. 😁 Like I feel like if you buy always save you probably get drunk on natty light and rubbing alcohol. If you buy always save you probably hate your family. 🙃 Wait they own Sam's club too so it's like...
