I think this is probably a really good place with authentic Vietnamese food, it's just not maybe a great match for someone as picky as me! I went with my best friend and ordered lunch and an appetizer and the lunch was really tasty but the appetizer was not at all what I was expecting. (Not that I know what Vietnamese spring rolls should be like, but I've had lots of Chinese and Japanese spring rolls before.) The menu didn't describe what was in the spring rolls I ordered and I was expecting vegetables like most Asian places I've had spring rolls before but here they were filled with vegetable, pork, and shrimp. Neither my friend or I eat shrimp at all! Honestly would give the restaurant a higher rating except for my disappointment over the appetizer and the lack of ingredients or descriptions listed in the menu. So many people have allergies and food sensitivities, especially to seafood, I think it would be wise to list when something that could kill someone is a primary ingredient in a dish. I have only had Pho one other time before trying this place and it had been many years. The portion is very large for the price and the flavor was great. I got the Pho with the rare beef and meatballs. I loved the rare beef but I found the meatballs to be a bit odd in flavor and texture. Next time I will order it with just the rare beef. The quality of the meat was excellent. My friend ordered the squid stir fry which was a bit expensive and a small portion for the price paid although it was delicious. It was odd the pho was adequately priced for the size but the squid dish was not. The service was excellent and I will definitely go back and try some other items on the menu. So I just left. I want these people to know who I am. I ordered two phos with beef on the side. The server came out with the pho with beef already in the bowl, when I wanted it on the side. I asked the server kindly about it. The server then said to me “Oh I thought you only had one on the side”. Like instead of questioning me, just say oh ok let me go get you a side dish of beef or just get me a new bowl if it’s not complicated… The server then turned around and had the audacity to say “Can you just take this bowl with the beef in it???” Like dude, no??? Lol. When the server came back with the bowl, the broth was a different color than the other bowl of pho I ordered.
