Today I walked into Kroger's Starbucks, in Springfield to purchase a coffee. Usually, most of the employees are friendly and courteous, but not today. There was an employee (Karen), no pun intended, who was about as rude as I've seen in a good while. She ignored my presence at the counter and only turned toward me when I called out..." is anyone working here?"—after sitting down waiting for my coffee-she just left my coffee on the counter without even notifying me that my coffee was ready. I complained to the other employees about her behavior. When Karen saw that I was discussing with her cohorts about her, she walked over and I confronted her directly about her rude attitude. Everything I complained about, she refuted with an excuse; not an apology. Where was the mantra-the customer's always right? This Starbucks in Kroger's was my "go-to" haven for coffee, but for now, I'm always going to think twice and ponder my experience with Karen, who they should put in another department because she is not good at servicing...
Read moreNice that we have a Starbucks in our small community but the fact that it is located inside of Kroger with no quick service option makes it offputting. There has always only been one person working the booth when I go, too, which makes service extremely slow. No fault of the one working but why would they only have one employee when there is most always a line of people waiting to order. If you could go about your shopping and be called back on the loud speaker maybe. I just don't leisurely stroll the store with a cup of coffee shopping as it seems offensive to other patrons if I am focused on a drink in my hand versus others. I have had my buggy bumped and people mindlessly stand in front of displays with no regard for others but I guess a drink in hand has little bearing on that. I just prefer going to my local coffee shop, Historic Perk, on the courthouse square or to the local Duncan Donuts for my coffee. It's more affordable than Starbucks and helping locally owned...
Read moreDespite having friendly baristas the stand is simply not up to par with other shops. Drinks are made differently than elsewhere and staff are not properly trained due to Kroger Management's ineptitude. I've also heard around town that multiple staff we're fired from the location without given an explanation.
Instead I suggest visiting the café 'The Copper Vault', it's behind the courthouse in downtown Springfield. Much better quality of service, cleanliness and is just overall a much nicer and...
