One trip, I was subjected to the ridiculous political views of both employees who were working, with no provocation, we had actually been discussing fishing before things took a wildly unexpected turn. Another trip, the sandwiches I ordered looked like they had been strangled before being given to me. (I have no outrageous expectations for quick service food establishments, but this seemed excessive and done with wonton disregard for any sort of pride in the work that was being done) And finally, with what will have been my last trip to this location, I placed an order online for 2 sandwiches. As I kept an eye on the progress through the app, I pulled into the drive thru to go ahead and let them know I was there. (sandwiches were most likely moments from being done) I was asked to give them a minute and I said okay. Before the employee came back on, I saw on the app that my order had been canceled and my card was voided. The employee then came on and asked what he could get for me. I said I was there for a pick up. He then replied that that someone had called in and canceled the order because they used the wrong card. I explained that my order had not been canceled because I had placed it and did not call in. He then said, "well I only have one order here and someone called and canceled it," to which I replied, "is it possible someone called the wrong location to cancel their order?" He seemed dumbfounded by this possibility but eventually said, "yeah, I guess that could have happened," he then said he could take my order again. I told him to forget it. He did properly refund my card, so he had that much...
Read moreI just went in here to get a sub and asked for a turkey sandwich. Instead of a bed of lettuce, I always get a bed of black olives. I am normally told I will be charged extra for it which is fine. However, I did not getting the amount I wanted because both men kept complaining that I was asking for too many olives (which not even a handful was put on it) so I suck it up and finish the order. I go to pay and one guy tells me $27.87! I thought I heard him wrong and asked again. When I told him I had never been charged more than $4, he told me that there are only supposed to be 6 olives on a sandwich and there were about 30 and each extra is 0.60 cents.... now correct me if I am wrong but 5x0.60 is $3 and 6x0.60 is $3.60? So tell me how a sandwich comes to $27.87?! The guy just kept saying you said you'd pay for the extra and you got what you wanted: 1) no, I actually wanted 2 big handfuls of black olives and 2) you're math is screwed up even using a computer! He goes "No subway is supposed to give you the amount you wanted" and I said "the one on the Westside does." He told me to go there then. So I said "I will, you are completely rude and it's uncalled for."
Suffice to say, this was the most horrid experience I had ever had at a...
Read moreOn September 17, 2025, I visited Subway on Sangamon Avenue after purchasing food for a partner at China Star, preferring a sandwich over Chinese cuisine. While experiencing a choking sensation, likely from a food particle, I requested a water cup. Unable to locate water, I filled it with Sprite. An employee ( Myron ) accused me of theft, despite my intent to order a sandwich and a large drink. When I explained my distress, he became hostile, threatened police action, and ordered me to leave. His aggressive demeanorâshaking, leaning over the counter, pointingâmade me feel unsafe. I urged him to call the police, but he continued his outburst. I contacted the police, who deemed it a civil matter and advised addressing it with the manager. The district manager, initially swayed by the employeeâs account, acknowledged prior similar incidents after my explanation. While I spoke with her, the employee loudly claimed I was lying to a new coworker. The manager promised to follow up. As a business owner, I found the public theft accusation humiliating. The employeeâs unprofessional, hostile conduct created an unsafe environment. I request a formal review to ensure accountability and...
