McDonald's — Restaurant in Spruce Pine

Only giving one star because of the handful of employees whom are always courteous and visibly try to do well at the job. I'd say 10% of my total visits were actually pleasant. I don't go often because usually fats food is only an option when I'm running late and need a quick meal. The other 90% of my visits to this location have gone awful. I get the wrong food, 7 nuggets when I ordered the 10 nugget meal, carbonated water, attitude from employees, made to wait at the window when there's only about 3 other cars in the whole place and I can visibly see employees standing around, talking and having the time of their life. I've worked in the service industry before so I have lots of patience but my patience with this location is basically done. I always treat employees nice and try to give them a smile so the least I expect is a respectful attitude. There's a young blonde girl there, can't be out of high school yet she looks that young, who always has an attitude practically throws the bag to the customers. I've seen her act hostile and rude to more customers who were nothing but nice. She tried to charge me for two meals of the same and at the moment I paid I didn't notice till I got my food with my ticket and saw 3 meals charged and only two on the tray. When I brought up the ticket to the counter she claimed if I didn't get the food then I obviously wasn't charged for it however it was visibly there on the ticket I had so. If it had not been for the grill manager that overheard and fixed the issue I probably wouldn't have gotten my money back based on her judgement. All she did was roll her eyes and make a face no apology whatsoever. Times I've gotten the wrong food at the window and called to let them know once I get home and see it because I can't be checking it while driving, I get told to take the receipt and if it is actually wrong they'll fix it and then I get hung up on. Wouldn't be a big deal if I actually got my receipts and maybe a "sorry about that, we can fix it" not an attitude of "well prove it we got it wrong." The food isn't that great to be fighting over but I just want what I asked and paid for, nothing more or less. As I said I have worked years in the service industry and was a manager at 2 fast food chain restaurants. I know how stressful it can be but it is not one customer's fault how another customer may have acted. Every customer is a new chance to do your best and make someone's day. I hate complaining, I am not one of those customers who looks for faults but it's gotten ridiculous at this point with this McDonald's. I hope they change up quick or perhaps corporate will do something about it if enough complaints and...

Went through the drive-thru after church. No other vehicles were ordering so I figured it would be quick service. After telling the employee our order, went to pay and they had issues finding the order. The girl ask what we had then goes to the next window. She comes back tells us the price and I pay. Get my card back, no receipt. Get to the next window. Lady there starts handing us our drinks and only hands us 4. We have 5 in the vehicle so ordered 5 drinks. Told her that we had a large coke too and she looks at a receipt and says no you don't it's a medium. I was like ok well then can I have my other drink and she tells me I only ordered 4. I asked for the receipt and she tells us to pull up to wait on out food so I did so. About a minute later a guy came up and asks what we had and I told him. And he goes back into the restaurant. Mind you there are also 5 other vehicles waiting on food. They had employees running around outside with bags of food having issues finding where they go. We got a girl that came up and asked if we had happy meals and I replied yes and she hands them to me and walks away. I said "hey miss" and she just kept walking. Waited another 5 minutes and my wife gets out to go inside for the rest of the food. Employees went out of their way to pretend she didn't exist. She was finally so frustrated she yelled that she needed to speak to a manager. She was in the store for like 10 minutes so I called her and asked if she had it straight and she said yeah. She comes back to the car after 30+ minutes of waiting on our "fast food". All employees besides the girl at the register and one guy that was helping my wife were completely rude and have no reason to be working any job where they have to deal with people. If you hate talking to people who has an issue that needs to be resolved, find a new occupation. The burgers I ordered honestly looked pitiful. Like buns completely flat, missing onions, and was just splattered with ketchup. This mcdonald's definitely needs a new restaurant for competition in Spruce Pine. Sadly we don't have any other burger place. If we decide we want a burger that bad, I guess we just need to wait to get to Burnsville before we stop at this one again....

Absolutely upset with this mcdonalds!!!!! I go through the drive thru to get my husband 2 fish filets and my nephew a cheese burger happy meal, I've worked for a McDonald's before all together for like 8 years so I knew we were probably gonna have to wait because of the fish filets. But when I tell you I waited almost 20 to 25 minutes before I went inside ONLY TO SEE what I believe is my food sitting on the counter. I ask the young guy on front counter if he can check on my order. He said he would be more than happy to, I explain to him what my order was and come to find out that was my order that had been sitting there for about 15 minutes. At this point I'm honestly trying not to lose my cool because I've been there especially as a teenager. Well I checked my order and the happy meal was not right at all but that boy went and had it all fixed which I told him how I appreciated him but honestly it was kind of ridiculous for them to have so much staff but he did tell me that Noone wants to work for the manager that was there because of how she treats them. Mcdonalds find better managers that will treat the employees like they are valued!!!! I use to work for the people that own this mcdonalds but at a different location and none of this would have ever been okay (especially with how the 2 older women...
