Understand two thing before you read my review. First, I'm an old geezer. Second, the BS Bar & Grill is just that, a neighborhood bar and grill. Would you go to Ruth Chris Steakhouse to shoot pool and throw darts with your buddies? So, accepting the premise that expectations are different for a bar and grill than a gourmet restaurant, here's my review.
Every week I and 2 other senior citizens play golf at the St. Ann Golf Course. It's always in the mid morning, and after we're done we have lunch together at one of the local restaurants.
The BS Bar & Grill is less than a mile from the St. Ann Golf Course. None of us had ever been there before, but after reading some online reviews, we decided to give it a try.
The first thing I noticed upon entering were all the fun games, including pool, darts, some kind of putting machine, what looked like slot machines, and many other diversions.
An older man,(the owner?) told us we could sit where ever we wanted. We picked a table and shortly after we sat down a waitress came over and gave us each menus and took our drink orders.
For a bar grill, the menu was decent in variety. However, I noticed there were no prices. I mentioned this to the waitress and she showed me where in the menu I could scan the bar code, which would take me to their online menu.
Here's where the old geezer part comes in. I have the world's cheapest Tracfone, and don't have Internet on it. I can turn on the data feed to get the Internet, but I decided that was too much trouble and I told the waitress that I would just order and not worry about the prices. Thank you Social Security.
One of my friends ordered the "No Bull$h*t Nachos" and it was HUGE and loaded with goodies. My buddy said it was very good. My other friend ordered a Reuben sandwich, and he also enjoy it. I ordered the Cheesesteak sandwich, which was described as "thin sliced ribeye on a Hoagie, topped with American cheese, peppers, and onions." It came with a side and I picked coleslaw, which the waitress said the owner made.
I didn't realize, because I didn't have prices in front of me, that I selected one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. It was $15.50 before tax and tip. With my iced tea, and 20% tip, my tab came to around $24. Even with Social Security, that's a little more than I usually spend on a casual lunch.
The sandwich was decent, but for less money if I wanted a cheese steak sandwich, I'd probably get it from Jersey Mike's or the Sweet Spot.
The slaw was okay, but I like sweeter coleslaw, like the kind they have at Bandanas or Lee's Chicken. My friend with the Reuben gave me some of his French fried, which were batter coated, and quite delicious.
There were only about 8 or 10 other people in the bar at lunch time, but I'm sure this place is really hopping at night.
We liked it well enough to come back after some future golf outing. I'll study the online menu before I go so I know exactly what to order and what it will cost me.
The staff is very nice, and it's a fun place. It's located in a small strip shopping center, on St. Charles Rock Rd, just east of...
Read moreCame to town from Michigan. Wanted a casual place with an outdoor patio to take our dogs. I'm giving this place five stars all around despite a few things that could have been better as in cleanliness of the bathrooms and the waitress forgetting our second platter, and no music on the patio. We wanted more pretzels and fried pickles (they are so yummy!) We've tried fried pickles in other restaurants , but have never liked them. The staff was very friendly, even catering to our thirsty dogs with a bowl of water. Everyone was so nice and welcoming there. Especially the patrons and bar tender. It was a perfect night with friends and family. I'm so glad we chose this place and plan to come back the next time we come to town. It's conveniently located to the airport, where our hotel was near and we were so thankful they allowed our dogs. I wish I could get some more fried pickles at this moment. Sorry. We didn't take any photos. Patio was a tiki style low light casual atmosphere. It was karaoke night, but we stayed outdoors due to the...
Read moreWe've driven past this place numerous times and never noticed it. My cousin decided she wanted to go to karaoke for her birthday and this was one we just found randomly on Google.
From the outside, it doesn't look like much, inside is the same. Its small, but its got a nice everyone is welcomed charm about itself. Everyone was INCREDIBLY nice, helpful, and attentive. You can tell everything they do is thought out and handled with care.
Food was delicious, nice portion to pricing amount. Drinks were reasonably priced and good.
Couldn't get everyone's name that night/I just am bad with names haha. Thank you for helping my cousin make her 21st birthday something to remember, thank you for the fun karaoke vibes, thank you all for being kind, and thank you for the service.
The wife and I will definitely be back again and im sure my mom and...
