The Waiting Room — Restaurant in St. Ann

My father and myself came up here last night, we got a pizza. About half of the pizza was slightly overcooked, and the other half was fine. The bartender, who I don't know, despite being a regular here, offered to make us a new pizza. We both said the pizza was fine. When I closed the tab, I found he had comped us the pizza, even though neither of us had complained, and neither of us had asked for him to do anything. I'm a regular, on first name basis with the owners, but this bartender didn't know that. The owners here, Doc and Shelly, are seriously the nicest people you could ever meet. As a pinball enthusiast, I came to their sister bar, the Silver Ballroom, for the first time, less than five years ago, for a pinball tournament. The Waiting Room is definitely an experience. Inside, it smelled like a porta-potty, which wasn’t exactly welcoming. The bartender was really nice, though, and the drinks were cheap — points for that.

They were blasting metal music so loud you couldn't hear the person next to you, which kind of killed any chance at conversation. Out on the patio, the weed smell was strong, and the 90-degree heat made the giant penguin statue feel even more bizarre.

That said, I did enjoy the disc golf pins they had to throw around — cool little surprise and a fun touch.

Great atmosphere, awesome bartenders l. Theres not another bar like it. I was the designated the other night and because of that I was just drinking soda or water and at other places I've been the bartenders don't really make you a priority because they don't make any money just serving free non-alcoholic drinks, but they where very attentive and fast with the refills. Most bars have regulars that have a clique with the employees, but everyone was welcoming and fun. Just watching a hockey game there was kind of like a sports bar and comedy club in one. I will definitely be going back and recommend that if you haven't tried The Waiting Room you should...
