If you are looking for good Chinese food in St. Charles this place is worth checking out. We dined in on a Saturday evening at 6:30. There was no wait but the place filled up by 8:00 when we left. The initial impression is this place is clean! Some Chinese restaurants have a greasy feel to them but this one seems well maintained from the glasses, tables, and restrooms to the wall decorations. The appetizers we ordered were crab Rangoon and egg rolls. Both were very good and not greasy. This restaurant has a homemade Strawberry based sweet and sour sauce that originally gave me pause because I've always had an Apricot based sweet and sour sauce but this one works. The sweetness actually balances the acidity of the food very well and eventually becomes addictive. They claim no high fructose corn syrup is in their food and I assume this includes the sauce. The chicken fried rice was really good. Everything had a fresh taste. The star of the evening was the walnut shrimp which I cannot say enough about. It is something only dreams are made of. Overall we enjoyed the food and it didn't make us feel sick afterwards like some Chinese restaurants do. My ten year old daughter even commented she felt like she had had something healthy. Take that for what it's worth. The service was polite but very slow. They seem to focus more on carry-out customers. A few times we had to track down the waiter for a water refill and the main course food took about 45 minutes to hit the table but overall a great experience and we will definitely be back. We finally found a quality Chinese restaurant in this hidden gem just allow a lot of time if you are not...
Read moreOrdered through their website. 50 minutes after placing order, got an email saying my order was cancelled. I checked my credit card and I had been charged the food amount, 20% tip and the delivery charge. I called Chamber Red to find out why my was cancelled. As soon as they answered they put me on hold. I waited on hold 15 minutes. They never came back to the phone. I called on another phone and no one answered. We got in the car and drove to Chamber Red. I went in and gave my name and asked why my order had been cancelled. At first they told me it was Door Dash's fault and my fault for ordering through them. I told her the charge on my credit card was from Chamber Red, not from Door Dash. She claimed Door Dash was getting the money, not Chamber Red, so I needed to talk with them. I told her I had ordered through the Chamber Red website, not Door Dash. She then went in the back, brought a bag out with my name on it and said, oh, sorry. It was now 1 hour 20 minutes since I’d ordered. The food was cold and the appetizers were soggy. My credit card was charged a 20% tip and a delivery fee for cold, soggy food I had to pick up myself 1 hour and 20 minutes after ordering. Their effort to push responsibility off onto me when Chamber Red actually contracts through Door Dash themselves for deliveries makes their commitment to customers questionable. I will no longer buy from this business. There are many businesses that need customer support, I will spend my...
Read moreOrdered take out last night a little after 8pm for delivery through Ubereats. The order was ready in less than 10 minutes and on its way out the door. That is way too fast and I should have already known it was going to be an issue. Both entrees were undercooked and the veggies in both were almost raw and very crunchy. Especially the onions. The chicken in both entrees had a really weird texture and the chicken in my fried rice had a fishy taste to it, and when you mix that with the mushy texture, it makes for a really nasty experience. Really hoping that the chicken was precooked because those three bites I took before it went in the garbage have me scared for my insides. I've ordered from here before and I haven't had an issue prior so really curious why this happened. Maybe the cook didn't want to bother with making more food when they were close to closing, but then don't accept any more orders after a certain time. Really grossed out and no longer...
