I’ve eaten here several times. Always enjoyable. I appreciate any restaurant trying to stay open during COVID. I frequented several. So I wrote this with incredible dismay. Due to COVID, they appear to be doing a lot of take out orders (good for them). Was here just a couple days ago with my family. The service was very slow. Appetizers came out after the main dishes. Had to ask for a knife and was handed a one that looked like it had been touched a dozen times. The food was ok. I came back today for lunch. Decided on sushi. The place had only been open for maybe an hour. I entered the restaurant and there was no one to be found. Stood at the counter for a few minutes until someone from the back noticed me. They walked up (slowly) and just said “hello”. I had to ask if they were open for lunch because there was no one in the place that I could see. The response was “yes”. I had to prompt him by saying “ok, just one please”. Very awkward. I sat at the sushi bar. I chose what I wanted to eat and proceeded to check email and messages while I waited for food. The wait was not very long. It was not until I was about 3/4 of the way through my lunch before I noticed the built up dust on the outside of the sushi fridge. I then started scanning the counter and noticed that not many things had been dusted or cleaned in some time. I found that odd given how so many places are going far out of the way to keep places clean right now. As I was finishing my last few bites, I noticed bits of food on the counter. And then..... what turned my stomach was the filth on the sushi fridge doors. You might say to yourself that there is bound to be some amount of mess that would be on the door from constantly going in and out to grab fish. However, the more I looked, the more I could tell that the filth was not fresh. This has been building up. The other fridge that was not in use also has filth on the doors. I started to think about what else had not been cleaned in some time. I just wanted to leave. I’ve been to Many sushi places. Places WAY more busy that this...true sushi places. I have Never seen a sushi fridge(s) like this. Most places clean as they go. You kind of have to. It’s raw fish! I will not return.

Updated - 3 reviews below: Here for soft opening in their new location where Sweet Tomatoes was. EXCELLENT food, see pics, macadamia crusted chicken is my favorite! Lettuce wraps and spring rolls, YUM. LOVE the lighting ambient lighting, Buddha, Dragon... But tables, seating and dishes kind of chintzy. Check out the high tech sink and mirror in the bathroom!!!! 💓 June 2022: LUNCH 🤏 Retuned for LUNCH and had a completely different experience. Food was VERY scarce. Order the pot sticker appetizer or pan seared dumplings, you get THREE for $6. The macadamia crusted chicken is my fav, but the lunch portion was SO SMALL... Like half of a half of a breast. The salad was good but but in the middle of the entrée hot plate and a out 3 fork fulls. Fried rice yummy. 2 of us ordered this and menu said were supposed to get vegetables, but we did not. My chicken and Thai tea with tip $25. See pics of our 3 Lunch items I just added. On another note, I hate the QR code menu and now the QR Code Pay Online. Security factor is a no for me, but helpful when the restaurant is short staffed as it was today. Only have an hour work lunch. Place not busy at all. Short staffed, yes, waited 30 min for food and we barely made it out in hour and a half. I know construction going on and staffing is really hard right now. On the plus side, food was great as usual! **New. Give this place a try.. Food is outstanding. Bugs will be worked out and hope staffing improves for all restaurants hurting right now. We feel your pain and understand!

Not sure why the Happy Hours (HH) around the Tri-cities aren't advertised more but a Happy Hour on a Saturday night! I'm there. Granted the Saturday HH is at 9:00 PM but, still sounds wonderful to find some food and beverage specials on a weekend! The HH drinks are priced at $4, $5 & $6. Whereas, the HH foods, which has a good variety to select from are priced at $5, $6, & $7. These specials are available in the bar. And no space restrictions in the bar area, since the bar seems about even in size compared to the rest of the restaurant. Since this is an Asian themed restaurant, the Sake is part of the HH drink specials, which is a nice touch. Keep in mind the bar staff is usually cleaning this time of the night, so service is slower and lots of cleaning activities. Had the $7 Satori meat... pleasantly surprised to see the generous portion of 3 Satori meat sticks, served to your liking of the meat cooked. Though I asked for medium and received well. There is a generous portion of Asian slaw. Also note, there were nuts in this slaw and no where on the menu stated nuts...so if you are allergic to nuts, then do ask on any of their food dishes. One little bowl of teriyaki sauce was not enough, especially for this beef, which needed something more. Enjoyed the side of sliced cucumbers - a nice refreshing side taste to the meat.

If I could rate this a zero star, I would!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a 23 year old I have been to plenty of restaurants on my own with my girlfriend. I hate to say it, but I have never been treated the way I have been tonight. Let’s just start off with the reservation. It was supposed to be at 7:15, we got there 5 minutes before and we were told they have a little bit of a wait. After 25 minutes I ask the hostess when our table would be ready, and she told us that she gave our table up to another couple!!!!!! Making us wait another 20 minutes.

Then, When we ordered our drinks, they tasted like piss.

We ordered all our food at once, thinking that we would get it faster but that’s not what happened.

We waited about a hour and a half before we were told our food was about to be out. 30 mins after that I asked when the food would be ready and they said the same answer but with a rude tone of voice.

After about 2 1/2 hours of waiting for our food. I went up to our waitress and told her nicely if we can just have our food to go. She then brought our food out within seconds.

We had to spend our Valentine’s Date eating at home!!!! And the food was even messed up!!!!!!

We paid full price for 4 rolls with fried rice When we got home our sushi tasted like it was sitting for a while, and just was not good. We got an order of spicy California rolls, and it looks like they were running out of the sauce they put on top because there was barely any sauce on our SPICY California rolls. And to top it off, we got cold fried rice

This is not the first time I have been treated like this at this location. The last time my girlfriend and I were there, we had a long wait. Keep in mind the last time we had a long wait at Wok N Fire in St Charles, it was a normal Saturday night, not a day like Valentine’s Day. I understand today is Valentine’s Day, but at least respect me...

First time at Wok 'N Fire, traveling on business and typically pick the best sushi in town to enjoy. What a disappointment. Vibe was good, place was packed for a Monday night. Sat at the sushi bar (no greeting, no specialty tasting salad, zip) and ordered Salmon Carpaccio, Chili Ponzu Yellowtail with Cashews, tuna, scallop and eel sushi. First, all came on one big plate. Nice presentation, killed the effectiveness of the dishes. The whole idea of apps is to enjoy the app on it's own plate--lots of yummy sauce, nice presentation. Salmon came on top of a ton of shredded radish. Whatever sauce put on was lost to the radish. What was left was Salmon and some mayoey sauce. Salmon is already rich; no need for some mayo sauce. Rich Salmon needs acidity, this one missed the mark. Plus, for every piece of Salmon, I had to peel off a ton of shredded Radish! The Yellowtail was a huge disappointment. Yellowtail app should be belly--not the dark stuff. No sauce...where's the sauce? Nothing like the picture on the web. Just some dry, average tasty yellowtail pieces with a slice of Jalapeno and cashews. Since when is putting cashews onto of dry Yellowtail a tasty idea? It was at the top of the plate, pitched, so any sauce they applied ran down to the middle, which had my sushi. One order (small) of average tuna on too much cold rice. $8. My place at home charges $5 and I get fatty Tuna and big fresh bluefin at that. Eel...cold. Also around $7 or $8. Scallop. Just OK, nothing on top, just scallop for $7. Service was decent but it was busy, I get it. If you live local, try Kinta sushi in Carol Stream. Great prices, much better sushi. I think Wok 'N Fire must have some great dishes because the place was packed. But if you stuff peanut butter in roll these days, some will eat...
