First off one of the workers walked through the restaurant with a plunger then set it outside right next to the front door. Then because we were coming home from dc for our 8th grade class trip we were just messing around with the high chairs and was rudely told to knock it off in a way she was in the position to talk to us in that manner. Then the restroom situation the women’s restroom all of the toilets did not flush. Then in the men’s restroom there was urine inch deep because the urniles did not work. In addition multiple of my male friends say one of the male workers use the restroom then exit without washing his hands. Washing your hands is basic hygiene and I should not have to worry that one of your employes did not wash his hands after using the restroom. Then the costumer service was awful as they charge and extra .25 for whipped cream but they already put it on everything so they are getting even more money from you that they did not earn and would not take fault or even realize that what they were doing was wrong. Then the food was gross it either had way to much flavor(which I didn’t think was possible) or no flavor at all. Not to mention the fact that all of my friends now feel sick most likely because there was hair in our food. And to add on to all of this the Gatorade was watered down and tasted like it had...
Read moreLet's take it back for a second here... before cell phones, before video games, before wearing your sunday best became whatever was comfy on the couch all day. Mehlman's Cafeteria has all the wholesome homestyle soul food your great grandmother would have made when the entire family gathered round the table with no distractions and enjoyed a meal full of love with those they cared about most. Mehlman's was a frequent stop in my childhood with family and today (almost in my 40s) I got the revisit this practically unchanged cafeteria restaurant with my family and our next generation to celebrate my Mother's Birthday and we were not disappointed. So many places out here worried about keeping up with the changing times and this amazing gem has sat high on the hill just outside of st. clairsville for decades and is running smooth as ever. Truly a must stop for all who want a chill spot to take the family for a touch of old world value and connection. Was just what our family ordered. Hope it is for the next family who...
Read moreNot only is just the best cafeteria, which doesn't say much because it's the only cafeteria as far as I know in the Ohio Valley, but what I can say is that it is the best restaurant and the best home cooked food I've ever had. It was my first job when I was 16 years old so I've seen everything get prepared by hand fresh daily and the owners and management are good people to work for. at the crime if you go there and don't try their famous apple dumplings. Diabetic? No problem. They offer them and sugar-free as well. their phone number is easy to remember which is good because their takeout service is always on point. I know the moment family has to sleep sometime, nut my only complaint is that they're closed on Mondays, because I could definitely eat their 7 days a week. You would almost have to try everything on there extensive menu. And it's also very, very affordable. I wish this rating system had a sixth star because...
