I always love it when we get to go to Cracker Barrel!! And I must say, everything is so much better here in West Virginia than it ever was in South Jersey. We just moved here to Wheeling WV on October 26th and have been to Crackle Barrel twice so far. Both times the food has been absolutely delicious and the service has been amazing! Everyone is so much nicer here and they definitely keep the store and restaurant much cleaner. I have one small suggestion though. I also make my own chicken n dumplings from scratch and there is one thing missing from y’all’s. You definitely need to add some celery salt to the broth as it cooks. It makes such a tremendous difference that I promise you that if you start doing this, you’ll get even more compliments. It took me at least a year or two of making it to get the perfect recipe and now I tell everyone to use celery salt and everyone totally agrees!!! But lastly, let me say Thank You!!! You always bring back the fond memories of my grandmas cooking! Man I miss her cooking. Keep up the amazing work and we’ll definitely be back for breakfast, lunch,...
Read moreStopped here for dinner after visiting the Steubenville Nutcracker Festival. The food was done just as ordered - one of our group has severe allergies so the food had to be made without certain things - and was brought to our table quickly and still hot. Our waitress didn't let any grass grow under her feet either. She was right there, clearing away dishes, refilling empty cups, checking how the food was and generally was.very attentive. Overall, the food and service were excellent.
However, the one complaint I do have is that when my mother asked if the restaurant took Triple A or AARP for senior citizen discounts, the MOD rudely said "We don't take that stuff here" and walked away from my mother. My mother will be 76 years old in a few short weeks and has earned the discounts she is entitled to. I have never gone to a Cracker Barrel where one of the cards was not accepted for a senior citizen discount. I found this to be extremely unacceptable and unprofessional...
Read moreWaited an 1.5 hrs for a table for 11 on Easter day. When we were seated they placed us at separate 6 seat tables not connected or even near each other because t hey only had 1 10 top table that was in use and their covid policy prevent us sitting at side by side tables or putting tablet together to make a larger table despite us all being 1 party and sitting outside together while waiting. At no point were we informed we would not be sitting together and basic common sense was not used to simply place us at side by side tables and not use the table next to them to keep the 6 foot rule between separate parties for covid safety. Manager was rude and did not even try to be accommodating or understanding of why we were upset. My family ended up leaving and going home to find something to eat...I'm not about to spend money to eat out on Easter with family and not get to sit anywhere even remotely near them. I took my 100 dollars else where and will not be returning...
