The Spoonful of Sugar - A Sweet, Homemade Delight! Nestled just a short drive from the Budweiser brewery, "The Spoonful of Sugar" ice cream shop is a true hidden gem that offers an authentic taste of homemade ice cream. With convenient side street parking, this charming, family-owned and operated establishment immediately feels inviting and warm. From the moment you step inside, you can tell that every scoop is crafted with heart and soul. The ambiance is genuinely welcoming, reflecting the passion of the family behind the counter. We even had the pleasure of meeting Joshua, one of the sons, who was incredibly friendly and helpful, guiding us through their tempting array of flavors with genuine enthusiasm. Their reputation for outstanding flavors is well-deserved. While their banana pudding, Oreo, and coffee are particularly notable, we indulged in a delightful selection that also included strawberry and a unique strawberry banana cheesecake. Each flavor was a testament to their commitment to quality, tasting genuinely homemade and bursting with rich, authentic taste. The banana pudding was creamy and comforting, the coffee robust, and the Oreo perfectly balanced. Beyond the delicious ice cream, the service truly stands out. Joshua's helpfulness and friendly demeanor made our selections even more enjoyable, adding a personal touch that is often missing in larger establishments. To top it all off, the prices are very reasonable, offering incredible value for such high-quality, artisanal ice cream. We had a truly wonderful time at "The Spoonful of Sugar." Highly recommend this delightful spot to anyone craving genuine, delicious homemade ice cream and a truly pleasant, family-friendly experience. It's the perfect...

THE spot for banana ice cream in STL

It’s pretty rare that an ice cream shop will have one of their selections significantly outshine everything else they have to offer, but this is exactly what I experienced at A Spoonful of Sugar. And what’s even crazier is that I don’t even like bananas, but I was going bananas over their banana pudding ice cream. Their banana ice cream is so good that I could realistically see a Planet of the Apes situation go on at a Spoonful of Sugar, where apes learn about how good the banana pudding ice cream is and perform a hostile takeover.

Their other ice cream flavors were still good, but they didn’t leave a lasting impression on me like their banana pudding ice cream. But other than being light on toppings in their other flavors, I don’t really have major constructive criticism to offer.

If you want to have ice cream, you can try anything at a Spoonful of Sugar. But if you want to have a lasting experience, you’ve got to get the banana pudding ice cream.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ice cream dreams come true in Benton Park!

A Spoonful of Sugar is the kind of place you hope to stumble upon—and then tell everyone about. The ice cream here is truly the star: rich, velvety, and bursting with flavor. Every scoop feels handcrafted with love, from the classics to the rotating seasonal flavors that keep you coming back.

And while the ice cream takes center stage, the home-baked cookies deserve a standing ovation. Soft, buttery, and made fresh daily, they’re the perfect sidekick—or better yet, the base for a next-level ice cream sandwich.

The service is just as sweet. The team is warm, patient, and genuinely excited to help you find your new favorite combo.

If you’re anywhere near Benton Park, do yourself a favor and stop in. A Spoonful of Sugar is a neighborhood gem that delivers pure joy in...

If you’re searching for the perfect spot to enjoy a sweet treat with the family, look no further than this charming family-owned ice cream parlor! Even your furry family members can enjoy a visit on the dog-friendly patio, which offers ample seating (don’t worry, there’s also indoor tables when the Midwestern humidity gets to be a bit much). I had the pleasure of trying their banana pudding and brownie batter flavors, and both were simply outstanding. The parlor also offers several dairy-free options! This ice cream parlor is a true gem, blending great flavors with a welcoming ambiance that’s hard to beat. Whether you're a local or just passing through, it’s worth a visit.
