I had to defer from composing my GOOGLE review for the AB Brewery Tour – Beermasters Tour in STL for approximately five days as I was so impressed! Visiting the Anheuser-Busch Brewery for a tour was an absolutely phenomenal experience! Our Beermaster Tour began at 12:30 pm, Saturday, July 29, 2024 at the STL Main Campus. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed into their world-class facility. The tour allowed us to explore not just a brewery, but a sprawling campus that showcases the heart and soul of one of the world's most iconic beer brands. Truly the “KING OF BEERS” as our wonderful and very passionate tour guide (MARK, I hate I missed his last name) explained. We started our journey by visiting the manufacturing facilities, where we witnessed firsthand the meticulous process of brewing their famous beers. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, providing fascinating insights into every step of the brewing process. Seeing the state-of-the-art equipment and learning about the commitment to quality was truly impressive. We also got to partake of wonderful liquid PROBIOTICS! A highlight of the tour was visiting the Clydesdales. These majestic horses are synonymous with Anheuser-Busch's heritage and seeing them up close was a breathtaking experience. Learning about their care and training was a testament to the brewery's dedication to tradition and excellence. Of course, no visit would be complete without tasting their beer straight from the finishing cellars. One fun fact that Mark mentioned that if we were to extract one 12 oz. bottle directly from one of many stainless-steel tanks, the rate of our consumption would be one bottle each hour, 24 hours per day for approximately 132 years! Then we would have consumed the entire contents of just one of the many tanks! The freshness and quality of the beer consumed were unmatched, and being able to sample a variety of brews tailored to our preferences made the experience even more memorable. What sets Anheuser-Busch apart is their ability to customize the tour to fit your interests and timeframe. Whether you're a beer enthusiast eager to delve into the brewing process or simply curious about the history and scale of this global powerhouse, there's something for everyone. Overall, the Anheuser-Busch Brewery tour exceeded all expectations. It's not just a tour; it's an immersive journey through the world of brewing excellence. What was especially wonderful was that MARK, being the true professional and very passionate individual, imparted genuine feelings of loyalty, pride, and honor for the product he represents, Anheuser-Busch Beer. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and enriching experience. Cheers to Anheuser-Busch for an...
Read morePretty terrible brewery tour. The highlights were some history about the Adolphus Busch family, some of the historic buildings, and maybe the high speed bottling. We were served a small glass of beer (2 choices, out of a 12oz can and not even the whole can) midway through the trip, and a full glass (4 choices) at the end. We also got a bottle of whatever they were bottling that day, which was Stella. Blech. Took the family on the Day Fresh tour, since we were in town. As mentioned by other reviewers, it's not free, $15 for adults, kids are $5. I was told by the receptionist that the kids could pet the clydesdales. Turns out they cannot; when we returned, the clydesdales are a separate and different tour of their own. Super disappointed, as seeing those huge beautiful beasts up close was one of those childhood memories that just stuck with me. There was one horse in his pen in the stable, which was roped off about 8' from the stall door. Kids just don't get the scale from that far. It was not immersive at all; no sights, smells, touches, or tastes of the brewing process. All you could see was the tanks inside every building, except the bottling area and the copper sink photo op. They showed some beechwood (no touching), and display containers of barley and hops. Nothing smelled like beer, wort, hops, or malt. My tour guide sounded like he had a mouthful of marbles. He was barely understandable at any of the stops. Not sure if all the speaker systems were bad or just him. The bottling was neat to watch, and the most interesting thing on the tour to the kids. Unfortunately, you're looking down from maybe 3-4 stories up, so it all looks tiny. They could benefit from signage labeling what happens at each place. Not my first bottling line, either, so I could tell the kids what happened where. Still couldn't understand the tour guide. There's a video presentation here that didn't work for us, too. I really thought they would have Bevo (the prohibition-era drink) for the kids, but they do not. The kids got their own half glass of lemonade at the end. Refills are $2. No drinks for the kids on the tour though. Overall not worth the price, even if it was still free. I've been on many brewery and distillery tours (even another A-B tour as a kid at Busch Gardens in FL), and this is by far the worst. It was just plain boring. If you really must visit A-B, park the car and walk to the clock tower, then spend your money at the biergarten, which was actually fun and nice and had products I'd never heard of before....
Read moreAn awesome experience to appreciate some beautiful architecture and beer.
I recommend purchasing the basic tour. It provides you a brief background of the brewing process and the Anheuser-Busch history including the Clydesdales. The tour is appropriate for young children. A fun aspect of the tour was watching the bottling process. The architecture here and paintings are very elaborate. I found myself equally enjoying these aspects apart from the beer making process. Do note there are several flights of stairs to walk during the tour. The only suggestion I have regarding the tour is to provide more opportunity to taste other beers apart from Budweiser and Bud light. I had a chance at the end of the tour to taste two other beers one IPA and the other a mango style ale.
The tour ends at a cafeteria. The service here at the cafeteria is awesome. Super attentive and prices very reasonable. The cafeteria is in the lobby which also houses some games children can play such as mini golf.
Kudos to the staff members that work the tours. I notice a family that showed up much after the closing of the tour ticket sales. A tour guide noticed and offered them a quick tour for free. Amazing!
I wish I knew all the names of the staff members but it would do no justice to the rest that I forget. So...
