Chicago Fish & Chicken Grill- Arsenal — Restaurant in St. Louis

Apparently, not many from da Chi has eaten here, lol. Updating my review after attempting to eat more of the gyro plate. This food is a hard NO. I guess people here will eat anything with lemon pepper on it bc nothing was worth coming back for. The only pro is food is hot, hit or miss on the "fresh". Not enough pros for this place to bear "Chicago" in it's name. You could tell they fried old beat up chicken. The chicken meat was black in too many places with brittle bones and overfried. The gyro plate didn't have real gyro meat. They try to hide it by slicing the meat into strip pieces but you can taste the difference. Ive NEVER seen a gyro plate with broccoli in it. The broccoli was just mush from being overcooked. The gyro plate was lacking...gyro and the vegetables were tasteless and also overcooked. I didnt even see a leg of lamb in the kitchen. The catfish nuggets were good. The pre seasoned fries are trash. Last, how do you claim Chicago-style and don't have mild sauce smh? It's a hole n da wall food spot and very little about it is authetic to Chicago. One thing St Louis can't brag about...

Ahmed is very nice and helpful. You can tell he really takes care of his workers. I am posting this review to let the world know that I went to the Chicago Grill at Gravois and grand and it was no good this Chicago Grill at Gravois and Arsenal is superior in every way. The staff is very friendly. And the food is delicious. I got the catfish nugget fried chicken platter which comes with fries. They even gave us extra sauces like ranch. I also got the mozzarella sticks, which they gave me an extra marinara. I called it in ahead of time so it’ll be ready when I got there. I got there 20 minutes later. All the food was ready and the staff greeted me with a smile. They knew me by name and face welcomed me back to the restaurant I feel very at home here. I feel safe like I’m taken care of. And the food is to die for it’s prepared deliciously and it’s some of the best food for the value that I’ve ever had. Got the 10 piece party buffalo wings and fries for under $15 including tax

Was very pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes, box could barely close with all of the food inside.

Fries were some of the best I had, love the seasoning. The Buffalo on the wings was stellar. Loved having the leftover sauce for the fries. The wings themselves were alright nothing special but good.

15-minute wait did not feel like much. They do a great job getting orders completed. When I walked in to order there was a big order in front of me going on. While I waited someone picked up wings; they are very efficient in the kitchen.
