My girlfriend order the Truffle egg salad.. Thing was drenched in truffle oil.. so much so i gagged.. all i could taste or smell was the oil. (Still gaging as I already left the "restaurant"..)
I ordered the Gravilax ... The salmon smelled fishy.. not fresh.. Overly dramatic presentation... couldn't eat it unless I tore it apart on my plate to get to the bread... After i tried taking a bite by unlocking my jaw and trying to get a bite of all the ingredients.. with that came my nose in contact with the salmon.. which again smelled fishy.. salmon shouldn't smell fishy..
The cloths they put on the table smelled like they were in a damp drawer for over a year. Made me gag every time I used it to wipe my mouth. Just use gain detergent or something!
Only thing that was pleasantly edible was the Norwegian pancakes.. which half of which was Nutella. Lol...
Girlfriend Said her hot coffee was Luke warm.. And the water given to us was room temperature apparently a no no for her... My iced coffee tasted like concentrated artificial vanilla ...
I told the waitress half the sugar in mine please.. "We don't add sugar you can add sugar that is on the table"
I taste my drink it was sweet af from the artificial vanilla... it didn't need extra sugar.. which I can't Even bother to add.. cause granular sugar won't even dissolve in this ICED coffee..
Im still gagging from the truffle oil as I write this review. **!
$55 .. total.. Left a $8 tip. Cause I'm not a monster.. But jeez this place is...
Read moreUpon entering this establishment at 10am the menu board options seemed limited for one who prefers savory over sweet. I can also see many customers uneducated on food costs and quality ingredients that may initially think the menu items are overpriced, but once I received my egg salad toast order the pricing was set accordingly to what was received. The young woman at the register was polite and made an honest mistake with our cash transaction, which we caught right away and let her know. It seemed as though she was still trying to learn the operations of the touch screen cash register. The owner approached the situation as she saw our confusion, did not promptly address us about the situation but began quietly and aggressively "correcting" the employees mistake. Which continued as she walked back over to prepare plates by saying "you're lucky they were honest." The employee was clearly uncomfortable after the fact as she continued to try to help with tasks. It took a little over 30 mins to recieve our 2 toast orders so I would not recommend going here if you have to go into work like we did. We even ordered ours to-go. With all of this being said I believe the owner has her quality, taste, and presentation spot on but needs to work on her business management skills as far as how to correct employees, training, and dealing with customer service. I hope to return and see this great chef improve these things to expand her business properly and open up creative doors for more...
Read moreI had been passing this restaurant for two years and was honestly so excited to try. I was a fan of the charming location and supporting a local business - always. But this restaurant, the edgy, hip nature of it was hindered by the fact that the food is not that good, and overpriced! First things first, the lady who took our orders was incredibly rude as we asked what she would recommend and displayed such annoyance towards us taking time to order being new guests. I had the cheddar and bacon toast, a friend had the avocado toast. The food was something I could have made in 15 minutes and the margin of what it costs to make — I don’t even want to know. My friend’s avocado toast barely had any avocado and She was distracted by the overwhelming amount of lettuce that covered it up. My food was technically garlic bread with cream cheese, cheese, and bacon. I also got an iced coffee with milk, the friend got orange juice and watched as the cashier poured a Tropicana bottle into a plastic cup... for 4 dollars worth. My friend and I love community table seating.. here, you have to literally ask people to stand up and leave their seat so you can squeeze in behind the table pushed up against the wall. It’s more sad because I wanted to like it.. it’s in my friend’s neighborhood and we love the area. This restaurant cuts many corners for an absurd profit, the food is disappointing, and the outlay of the restaurant is an inconvenience to their...
