Always good. Always. Reasonably priced, large portions, terrific fresh salsa, and servers who have been there for YEARS and recognize you like extended family. 4/2022 Losing a star now that I've been back post-covid. They no longer have their amazing wings on the appetizer menu, and frozen margs and daiquiris are also gone. Overall, the menu is smaller. The chip baskets are also smaller, and the chips are thick yellow corn, not like the light, thin white corn chips they used to have. The salsa was spicier than before, which wasn't a bad thing. Our server failed to bring more chips and napkins when we requested them, and it took a long time before she remembered we had asked for a box. But she wasted no time collecting my card to cash us out. I didn't see any of the servers I had come to know over the many years of been coming, pre-COVID. Disappointing, if they are really gone for good.

Yesterday, while watching a movie, I was actually napping through it when I heard the word chimichanga. I thought, man, I haven't gone out to eat in a while, and a chimichanga sounds great. So I hopped up, grabbed the best girlfriend in the world, and went to a restaurant named Chichihanga, thinking they must have great chimichangas, and they did not disappoint. The chips and salsas were good—not really spicy but still tasty. The staff is friendly, and the food is great, with large portions. I had the chimichanga filled with carne asada. Highly recommend!! And my girlfriend had enchiladas verdes, which I was then told on the ride home were very good. All in all, it's a great little spot if you find yourself on the south side of the city.

Our first time visiting. We arrived on Friday night at 5pm and seated right away. I'm glad we got there when we did because they had a waiting line by the time we left. It's definitely a popular place. It became very noisy and hard to hold a conversation. Food was OK not outstanding. Chips brought out were thin a plus for me and I ask for a hotter salsa. It had decent amount heat which I enjoyed. Wife got fajitas and polo loco for me. Fajitas came out smouldering hot with a side plate of the usual accomplishments. My filleted chicken breast was a bit tough to cut but had a good flavor. Worth another visit to try other items on a big menu. Picture shows the actual lighting inside making it hard to read the menu

I went there yesterday for for drinks & to try their food. After being told that there would be a 30 minute wait, we decided to sit at the bar. The bar was filthy, covered with plates & glasses. There was a couple at the end of the bar & a party at the tables so I could understand that it had been busy before we got there. We sat down & waited with silverware & menus in hand for 20 minutes while the bartender refused to acknowledge us or clean the bar where we were sitting. The manager went to get the couple at the bar water but also didn't acknowledge us. Mind you, she saw us walk in & knew we hadn't been helped. We decided to leave & I told the bartender on my way out that I used to bartend, I'm an awesome tipper, & that I was appalled at how I was treated. I then asked the hostess for a manager, she directed me to two young ladies at the counter. I asked the ladies if they were managers & they told me no. By then I was livid & asked them to go get the manager for me. The manager came & when I told her what happened she she just stood there looking lost. I told her that she didn't acknowledge us either & her excuse was that she thought we were drinking already. Every glass & plate near us was empty, & she saw us walk in. All I could do was shake my head & let her know that I felt that it was racial at that point. I felt that my money was not taken seriously, I felt like management didn't try to resolve my problems or issues & that we were ignored because we were 2 black women with afros. I never thought that choosing that restaurant to celebrate my Fortieth & have a Margarita with a friend would leave me feeling like me & my money were irrelevant & unwanted. I will NEVER go...

We've been going here for several months now and really like the food. The prices are also okay & we especially liked the Kids Eat Free on Sundays. However, over the past 2 months or so the service has declined significantly . . . waiting for our server to come over to take our orders, drinks not being refilled, having to flag down our server to get something . . . just not good at all. But we kept coming back thinking that those were isolated incidents. Unfortunately they were not and it has gone on a while . . . with various wait staff members.

Yesterday we went and after having poor service yet again I decided to say something to the cashier. When I get up there I'm told that not both kids meals are free today b/c my wife ordered a special and not an entree. We get the same thing every time we go and this has never been a problem before so obviously that was frustrating. Then, as I shared my frustration with poor service over the past couple months I was completely dismissed with no apologies or explanations.

This is so sad b/c we love the food . . . being nice is so easy to fix yet they just haven't figured that out. I don't know if something changed in management or what but unfortunately we will be looking for a new mexican restaurant. And that sucks for both them and us as we are creatures of habit. Once we find a place we like, we'll stick with it for years. Sad to say that I can't...

This is our go to place for the closest Mexican food experience. Their chips are the best, no stabs to the teeth or gums with these delicious melt in your mouth tortilla chips. I think they make them there. I cant imagine a chip that thin, making it through shipping! Their salsa is filled with celantra that lends a more authentic flavor. My wife and I, have been Mexican conoseurs for much of our married life of 35 yrs. We have eaten Mexican all across the US, including Mexican truck stands in Mexico. St Maartin, in the Carribian lended a totally different taste towards Mexican foods. Texas is a whole different type of Mexican consisting of small, order at the counter, mostly egg or fish filled tacos. New Orleans has a large group of Authentic Mexican foods. Weve tried many places there. Los Angelas leads in most Authentic. But here in St Louis, We have found that Chimichungas is one of the best places for an Authentic Mexican experience. Their service is prompt, Their dishes are about as authentic as you can get here in the states. The taste and quantity is great. Prices are affordable. #1...
