Comet Coffee stands as a paragon of excellence in the St. Louis coffee scene, offering a remarkable experience that caters to both coffee aficionados and casual drinkers alike. The quality of their coffee is superb, consistently delivering flavorful brews that highlight the craftsmanship of roasters from around the world.

The baristas at Comet Coffee are not only knowledgeable but also passionate about their craft, ensuring that every cup served meets the highest standards. Their expertise and friendly demeanor create an inviting atmosphere, making each visit a joyful experience.

In addition to their exceptional coffee, Comet Coffee's baked goods are among the best I have encountered, not only in St. Louis but anywhere. Their selection is diverse and consistently delicious, making it a highlight of each visit.

For those who enjoy brewing coffee at home, Comet Coffee is the go-to place for purchasing beans. They offer a wide variety of options from renowned roasters, many of which are brewed in-house, allowing customers to sample before buying. This commitment to quality and customer satisfaction sets them apart from other coffee establishments.

Comet Coffee is a gem in St. Louis, offering top-notch coffee, delectable baked goods, and outstanding service. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking the best coffee experience in the area. Without a doubt, Comet Coffee is one of the finest coffee shops...

This place can get super busy fairly quickly between 7.45am-9am, so expect a wait!! On weekends, the "rush hour" begins at 9.30am or so and goes clear till at least 11am or longer. There's a hotel, a community college, a slew of specialty doctors offices and high-end townhouses within a 15 min walk of their front door. So be patient, but know that employees are caring and respectful. I come here during the week, rarely on weekends, and feel that this is one of the hanful of BEST coffee places over many others in the city. They have delicious GF muffins and cake (when available, which is an annoyance that sometimes the GF baker doesnt feel like baking? weird). I like their quiche and my fav is oatmilk lattes. Inside the cafe used to be very dim and gloomy, I like the new look, so much brighter and inviting; now they need some more wall art. Comet gets high marks on food, service and atmosphere and there's always room for improvement. Just be aware of info mentioned above and feel free to order online if time allows and just come in to pick up.

P.S. drip coffee takes longer than a latte because of the special method they use to make it, same...

Another place that seems to prove that the StL scene has gone nowhere but downhill in the last 3 years.

Comet used to be a reliable source of high-quality coffee and baked goods made by people who really, deeply cared about their work. I was a barista for 12 years and many people I worked with and trust built it up to something special. In the last year Ive come less and less because the service and quality have plummeted faster than a jet with no engines.

Today was the last time Ill give this place a chance. Rude service from every person behind the counter, from not asking our names for the order (thanks for describing my clothes on the ticket instead) to over-and-incorrectly explaining the drink I ordered to me at hand off.

Sorry, there is no such thing as an "iced cappuccino" (I ordered an iced vanilla latte with less milk). The names of coffee beverages are named according to the temperature and texture of the milk involved. Telling me I need to order an "iced cappuccino" or "iced flat white" is a recipe for disaster.

Also at the end there was no vanilla in...

Comet Coffee is a gem! I tried their classic latte, the matcha latte, and the cinnamon croissant pastry—and every single item was spot on. The latte was smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced—no bitterness, just that comforting coffee warmth. The matcha latte had a beautiful earthy flavor with just the right hint of sweetness, making it both refreshing and cozy. But the real star? The cinnamon croissant! Flaky, buttery layers with a generous swirl of cinnamon that pairs perfectly with either drink. The atmosphere is relaxed yet vibrant, the staff is friendly, and it’s clear they care about quality. Whether you’re here for your morning caffeine fix or a mid-day treat, Comet Coffee delivered!

A great little place at the bottom of an office building to get a decent baked bite and cup of coffee. The only small downside which is largely based on personal preference is the lack of robust coffee flavor which my companion and I suspect and assume is due to using a light roast. However the drinks were made very well and they appear to have a solid team in the shop who know what they’re doing and are friendly enough to their guests, plus we found it a great atmosphere to sit, study, and relax awhile which is definitely a plus! Would not count it worth a drive to visit again but would do so should we find ourselves in the area close by.

A true espresso bar! Sump, Sweet Bloom and other coffees are available here and well-prepared. I ordered a cortado and a cappuccino: the staff was very helpful in selecting a coffee blend for each of the drinks. Both drinks came out just right, with the coffee notes being accentuated by the microfoamed milk (instead of being hidden, like in other places around town). And they do know how to make espresso. Unlike other "3rd wave coffee" shops, the shots were well-extracted. A terrific experience and do note the patio has afternoon shade, so it is quite a nice spot for your afternoon coffee. Definitely plan on visiting again.
