Imma keep it funky per usual, Its a no for me fam.. To make sure I didn't write this review out of anger I waited months to make this. I moved out first of June, it is now August and I think I am clear. I will discuss price point, location and amenities to give you a idea of what your getting yourself into. For the price you pay your not getting the best bang for your buck. Most other places in the area have more lively amenities and the energy is there but living here was a drag most of the time. The best thing about amenities is the temp controlled garage for the winter months. But there is absolutely NO SERVICE down there so that can be dangerous. oh that's also a extra 95-150 up charge for a spot down there so you've been warned. Also a guest of mine and other neighbors cars have been vandalized outside of the east building. So watch out for vandals. The pool is pretty much non existent and might as well be a bathtub. Literally. Go and take a tour yourself if you want a good laugh. Its literally a quarter of the size of a cargo container. I kid you not. Also the apartment itself is big but small at the same time. Lots of floor space but hardly any storage to place things. They do have storage that you can pay for but if I'm already paying rent why do i need to pay for more storage as if they weren't in my pockets enough. When it comes to location (The only thing that they got right) was how central you are to everything. The owner of the complex is money hungry, I get it your running a business but threatening to get a lawyer on residencies for a late fee is diabolical. Never will I ever rent from this corporation ever in my life. The doors Still has old school locks on the top and bottom lock so if you lock yourself out that's 320 dollars out of your pocket calling a locksmith. No reimbursement from the front office either. The elevator does not work most times and the back door of the East building was broken longer than I've been there. There is a red head guy named Ryan that works in the front office beware of him at all cost he is the absolute worst. All the amenities are from the James Brown era and I hope you have a TB shot handy after using the gym equipment. I dreaded my stay here and makes me rethink doing leases all together. Needless to say there is another apartment in the complex try them or another complex else where but stay away from Lofts at Forest Park...
Read moreSo far a good place to live. Mostly well maintained though the main office lobby gets most of the attention. Units are nice and have up to three bedrooms. Master bedroom is fully closed but the other rooms are 3/4 walls. Not the best if you have really young children but that shouldn't be a surprise. Check out the floor plans on the loft website for more details. Neighbors are a mix of students and youngish professionals; some with families. They are good but do keep to themselves but a few will pop out for the fairly frequent organized events held by the front office. Events range from movies on the lawn to make your own waffles in the west loft lobby. The lobby always has popcorn, coffee, and tea available. Probably for new prospective residents but I usually grab some tea in my way home from the gym and no one seems to mind. The gym has a nice selection of equipment and is utilized well but is not over crowded. No sweat rack or bench for press bit there are free weights. In the complex is a Jimmy Johns, yoga studio, and comet coffee. Comet is my favorite cup of coffee in the city. Check out my review on their page. Lofts at the highlands are adjacent to forest park which is my favorite feature. I spend so much time in the park. It is about a 15 minute walk either across Hampton or St the science center underpass. Wish there was closer access but this is still superb. When there are major events at forest park the administration hires security and locks down parking. You can see fireworks during fair stlouis but just barely over the trees. If you hate fun and don't like fireworks they probably yet won't bother you too much. Now that we have uber in town most of the city is within a 15 dollar ride away. Great...
Read moreMy experience at Lofts at Forest Park was by far one of the worst experiences I have had at an apartment complex. My wife and I moved here when we matched here for residency. When we moved in the cabinets in our kitchen were very worn down. We had several maintenance issues with our unit throughout our time here. The most significant problem we had was that our apartment flooded twice. We lived in a first floor unit. This happened because the drain on the patio got clogged with debris as the drainage was insufficient. This was not just a mild flood, but rather it completely flooded the entire living room. After the flood water was cleared up, we brought this up to the property manager. She insinuated that this was our fault for not making sure the drain was clear and told us to file the damages with our renters insurance (which doesn’t cover flood damage because we live in Saint Louis and in an area that floods). Property management then proceeded not to fix the insufficient drainage on the patio. Five months later, it happened again except this time I made sure that the drain was clear before we had storms come through. This flooding was even more extensive than the first one, extending all the way to our hallway and again filling our entire living room. When I brought this up again to the property manager, she told me to file with renters insurance, which I told her was not an option because flood damage is not covered. She contacted her regional manager who refused to compensate in any way for the damages. This flooding also resulted in the base of our kitchen island starting to rot. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this apartment at...
