D's Place — Restaurant in St. Louis

Our office is in Soulard and we love to support local businesses, but in the future it won't be D's Place. We stopped in D's Place for lunch one weekday, during a Cardinals game, hoping for some good food and watching the game while on our lunch break. Unfortunately that didn't happen. There was a group in the front of the bar, presumably regulars based on how they were treated, who yelled the entire time they were there (at least 50% of our time), making it impossible to have a conversation at our table 20 feet away. In Soulard on a game day you would think they would have the game on, but they didn't. We requested it. Never happened. The bartender was too busy with her personal life (texting and general socializing with the very few people sitting at the bar). Service was incredibly slow (we even noticed this for other walk-in/take out parties), a member in our group was made fun of for asking about the soup of the day (how were we to know you don't serve soup year round? take it off the menu, then), our food came out way late and had clearly been sitting under heat lamps a long time. Couldn't event get napkins after ordering wings. No drink refills. Apparently the key to good service here is to know the owner, because his guests were treated like kings (seated next to us). This was my first time there and it was a wonderful experience! Food was wonderful!! Service was great. I loved the atmosphere. Just know if you go they don't have servers so you have to order at the bar. We had buffalo dip wontons,toasted ravs,potato skins,golden bbq wings and spicy mustard wings. Everything was really good but the golden bbq wings were the best!! They also have a nice patio with a big screen so you could watch the game. Mt husband and I decided to go check out D's Place for the first time last week and discovered quickly that it is much more of a normal hang out place than an inviting area for people stopping in for the first time. The bartender was extremely neglectful of most patrons at the bar except for one gentleman that she was sharing a dinner with. She spoke poorly about the cook in the kitchen to the bar patrons.
