El Maguey Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in St. Louis

When we arrived we were greeted and seated right away. There was 0ne other table when we arrived. Drinks and chips were served promptly. We ordered our food from there it went down hill. When chose a fajita for two the plate did not come out sizzling hot. We needed to remind her of the cheese sauce that was ordered when it was brought she was ready to walk away when we needed to ask for plates. We ate our food, which even thought it was not sizzling the food was very good and the portions was huge, carry out containers were in order. By now we were the only customers there. Not once did there server check on us. Finally, my granddaughter went looking for carry out boxes. The waitress the followed her to the table and left the check. Fifteen minutes we see the server walking around the dining room. We made eye contact and we assumed she was coming over. (Mind you we could not see any other employees) . The next thing you know she pulls out her cell phone and continued to ignore us. About 4 minutes later owner comes out brings us a plastic bag. He took the money and when my granddaughter said she would no longer come to that location anymore he started apologizing. To sum it up ,even thou food was not sizzling, it tasted great. Portions was very good. Service stunk. Server could have been having a bad day or really did not need to be...

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone they’re very rudely. They are not properly educated on military discount as I am a dependent of my veteran father or how the military discount card is given out lack of communication when it comes to their prices and the charges that they’re charging you please don’t waste your money, visiting this establishment horrible experience all the way around will never come back here. Also, don’t get me started on the customer service when the server brought out a hot plate of fajitas she burned. My one-year-old hand and didn’t bother to apologize when she seen me trying to rearrange the table to make the stuff fit since they refused to let us sit at a bigger table my son asked the server a question about the food she ignored him like he didn’t exist The server did not come back to ask if we needed any refills horrible customer service (I did not tip for these reasons) don’t get me started on how there was one scoop of sour cream and guacamole I asked for an extra scoop of sour cream and guacamole he brought out a big bowl of guacamole that I did not eat because it wasn’t fresh so I asked him to take it off my bill and he was very rude about it no customer service at all. How can you want a tip when you didn’t even do a good job...

I don’t like the fact that when you order the margarita dip they don’t come with chips. If you want chips you have to buy chips and salsa for 3.99. That is ridiculous, why would you want the dip without chips?? The smart thing to do would be to provide chips with the dip for free unless they have another dipping option like pieces of flat bread or something. Also, there carry out packaging sucks. I paid for white quest cheese which it spilled out into the bag, the dip the grease from the ground beef and sauce for tamales most of it in the bag. There food is good, but not that good, when you charge extra just to have chips with my dip and no other alternative offered really really sucks. Thanks for responding, what is the purpose of ordering margarita dip and you have nothing to dip WITH??? That dip alone cost 5.99 so why not raise the price to include chips or something to DIP with. Since your only concern is COST instead of CUSTOMER SATISFACTION POINT BLANK:IF I BUY DIP I WANT SOMETHING TO DIP WITH. PERIOD.
