UPDATE We have dined at Himilayan Yeti many times and enjoyed the food and the ambiance. However, today our visit was very upsetting. I picked up my son from school and he asked if we could swing by and have their buffet. He loves the chicken tikka masala. As we pulled up, I made sure they were still open for the buffet. Per their signage, both permanently on the door and the sign out front.. They advertise their buffet is from 11am to 2:30pm. It was 2:20pm when we arrived and walked in the door. They informed us they were closed. I said to them, how can you be closed when you advertise your Buffet is until 2:30. And they explained to me that they start closing at 2:20. The exact time we walked in the door. So their advertising is false. They offered to let us purchase an order of chicken tikka masala to go, however, when they rang it up it was $22 instead of the $9.99 that I would have paid had I purchased the buffet. They then informed me I had to pay full price for the meal and that their buffet was no longer $9.99 it had been raised to $11. Still, $11 would have been cheaper than what they were charging us for food they would have pitched anyway. They could have rectified the issue of their false advertisement and retained a good customer and given us our order for the same price as we would have paid for it on the buffet, but they did not. Too bad. I will not recommend them anymore and we will not be...
Read moreI visited this place while I was on business trip. I really underestimated this place, when I first parked my car and entered the place it looked like almost a diner in Indian style. The restaurant is located in a busy street and lot of business nearby, so I was skeptical about this restaurant. This place really surprised me, the food was really amazing and delicious. The choices were less but they were made to perfection. I was on my way to airport and wanted to eat some Indian food but less spicy and traditional. Really loved how light the food was and also the quality was exceptional. The people in the restaurant were so casual, it felt like you are having lunch in your home. They come in and find a spot, grab some plates and have some great while kids running around and keep playing. Felt like a friendly family style restaurant and I saw strangers were sitting opposite to each other while having the buffet and making conversation. This is not a place for someone who is looking for exceptional customer service or a fancy restaurant. This is for someone who enjoys a diner with great quality food. the buffet was affordable $14 with tax during week days and they have plenty of parking 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏 definitely a must place to try
I felt the restaurant was less staffed and two servers were running around to have the guests seated, cleaning tables and handling the check...
Read moreYou must eat at this place if love Indian food and want to taste how home food taste like and if you are ever in St. Louis. One of the best Indian food restaurants I would have visited in the US. We were in St.Louis for the weekend and our craving for momos led us to this place. The place is a bit small and gets too busy during dinner hours so your order may take time (seems like they are short-staffed considering the crowd they pull). We noticed that the whole staff out of the kitchen was female so another reason to appreciate it. We ordered steamed veg momos and samosas (both are a must try). The best momo and samosa place in the US. Our entrees were Dal makhani, chhole masala and palak paneer with tandoori roti. Portions are sufficient (not too big, not too small). Roti were 4/5, they can improve a bit, but the rest of the dishes were up to the mark. No exaggeration, no overdoing. The curries weren’t oily or creamy or restauranty! It all tasted like home, how authentic food tastes in Indian homes, it tasted exactly like that. Loved the food, staff was friendly, and the restaurant isn’t overpriced! Will definitely come again if I ever visit...
