I LOVE stumbling upon places like this. Based on other reviews it looks like I’ve been living under a rock. I’m constantly trying as many new places as possible, looking for new first-rate chicken experiences. I came here for the pizza after getting a strong hankering from watching One Bite reviews. I googled “best pizza STL” and picked the first place I hadn’t yet tried. I ordered an 18” pizza with fresh basil, half pepper bacon. I saw in the pictures that they use actual strips of bacon and not just bacon bits like most places. I was sold. I figured I may as well roll the dice on an order of wings. Typically pizza joints have terrible wings but I’m always down to try them at least once. Boy was I in for a surprise. I picked up my pizza and wings, took them to my car, and gave them a little sample while they were in their freshest possible state so I could give them their best chance. The pizza was spectacular right off the bat. This I was expecting. High quality mozzarella, freshly chopped basil, and crispy strips of bacon. The sauce was well balanced and the crust was fluffy yet chewy. I then sampled a wing. This is where the true party began. I ordered the wings half Thai chili, half jalapeño ranch. They automatically put the sauce on the side for to-go orders as to preserve crispiness. This is a pro move that more places should do by default without having to ask. Upon opening the lid I was happy not to see jumbo wings, the scourge of any wing purveyor. They used normal sized, higher quality wings. I tried my first bite dipped in the jalapeño ranch and my eyes lit up like a little kid trying his first bite of chocolate. My mind was completely blown. It had been so long since a sauce gave me this feeling of awe and appreciation. This ranch was thick and creamy with a light, verdant, note of jalapeño. Fresh, real, jalapeño. The Thai chili sauce was sadly just the regular condiment you can find in any store. Nothing special. The quality of the wing itself was s-tier. Perfectly fried and crispy while remaining juicy and succulent on the inside. This combo was so good that I went inside and instantly ordered another. I remember seeing, on my way in, a myriad of wing-ding trophies. I used to respect the wing-ding but in recent years I’ve completely discounted their opinion. They keep giving awards to Brewskeez who has the sloppiest, most grotesque, novelty wings you can get anywhere in Missouri. These things are absolutely horrible so the wing-ding had lost all reputation in my eyes. This time the 2022 people’s choice award was spot on. Felix’s winning entry was a trashed Buffalo wing drizzled in that world-changing jalapeño ranch. I initially didn’t get this because I was getting them to go and didn’t want them to get soggy. This time I waited and tried them fresh at the restaurant to see if they lived up to the accolades. They did. Textbook Buffalo wings, perfect in every way. Beautifully accented by the creamy jalapeño drizzle. I’m so happy I came back in to try these. Overall I’d give the pizza a 9.1/10 and the wings a 9.55/10 clucks. Some of the best wings I’ve had in quite some time. Up there with the all-time best. It seems like I’m the only person in STL to not have been lucky enough to eat at this establishment but if you haven’t, go ASAP. You will not regret it.

This is a review based on my outdoor dining experience. The food I received was very tasty, the portions were large. The pizza I ordered was on a thin crunchy and fairly flavorful crust. The cheese and sauce ratios seemed appropriate for the space they had to work with. As with a lot of non chain joints, the toppings clinged to one another instead of the crust...pro tip: wait a few minutes for everything to cool down a bit more so you can navigate the mess that will ensue. My review is cut down to three stars due to the following issues with dining outside. (Note that for outdoor dining you use the Toast app or website to view the menu, order your food, and pay): *The patio is not properly covered, letting sun beat down on different parts of the seating area depending on the time of day. There's no umbrellas on the table to compensate for this...if you eat outside during an STL summer you may have to move tables mid meal. Also note that you'll be sitting on wooden park benches, so if you need to properly relax you'll find it difficult. *They seem to use this outdoor space to store their equipment, random chemicals...a bicycle was tucked behind the bar. It seems as though this patio was an afterthought rather than it being something properly built into their business model. *Several times during my stay I could smell tobacco and marijuana cigarette smoke. No matter where it's coming from...it's distracting for me, and might be a deal breaker for others. *The situation for ordering and receiving water outdoors is not explained by the staff, any signage, or on the menu (at least nothing I could find). There was a large pitcher (like one would see on the sidelines of a football game) labeled "water" and some disposable cups on part of the unused bar. I eventually grabbed my own fresh cup from the stack and poured my own water...I didn't get told /not/ to, and the water tasted fine, so I'm assuming this was the proper way. No staff ever offered to refill my water so I did it myself. You can see from the photos that there's hardware set up to have the bar area staffed by someone, and for diners to be able to pick up their pizzas from the kitchen using a portal...not sure why this wasn't in working order for a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I would recommend you do try this place, but skip the outdoors seating unless they have it set up differently when you arrive. I'll visit sometime later on this year and see if I'm given a better experience for my money indoors.

Lunch Special on Friday comes with a garden or ceasear salad plus a lunch size slice of pizza including any of their specialty slices. I chose the slice of the week Philly Cheese Steak and it was fabulous. I would call it a Hefty slice as I had to cut it in half to eat it (crazy part a dinner slice is twice as big) crust was fantastic as it was crispy on the bottom and soft on the inside. Thick hand tossed is the best description. Toppings were great. The garden salad with house made jalapeño ranch dressing damn near stole the show. I highly recommend trying the salad when you visit. I washed it down with a Made in Missouri Brick River Cider that was very good. I need to explore more slices at Felix's and more ciders at Brick River. Felix's Pizza Pub is located close to the world famous STL Zoo and Forest Park and it will definitely be on the list when I'm in the area. Service was excellent as well both wait staff and kitchen everything was hot and fresh or chilled and fresh. Cider was served with a frosted mug.

My hubby and I visited Felix's last night for a work party and had a fantastic time! It was around 7:30p on a Sunday night and we had no problem finding a place to park about a block away. There were about 20 people in our party and they had no problem finding room for us and taking care of all of our orders! They were happy to split our check and they didn't charge an automatic 20%!!!

Apparently, this place is known for their pizza and wings, but I wasn't really in the mood for either. My hubby and I went for something completely different - three tacos and the Lil Madre. The latter was served with their awesome waffle fries! They were crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and the seasoning was mild. The beef was shredded and tender with a touch of heat at the back of the mouth. The buttery flavor of the melted provolone cheese provided the perfect balance to the spice!

Now, the tacos. I don't think I could choose a favorite between the three we tried because each was pretty darn yummy! I knew I wanted to try the chicken taco because red curry coconut cream sounded way to good to pass up - and it was absolutely a winner! The lettuce provided a crunch, the tomato gave it juice and the feta balanced the jalapeno sauce. The beef brisket taco had salty diced brisket with a pineapple salsa that was sweet, but not too sweet. Lastly, the carnitas taco. The pork was super soft and juicy with a chipotle sauce.

All in all, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food! Hopefully we'll make it back again to try the pizza and those...
