If youâre considering them for your wedding cake, stop considering and DO IT. You wonât be able to beat Sugaree on taste, price, or customer service.
Weâve been married for over a year now, and we still have people mention that it was the best cake theyâd ever had at a wedding. We had over 300 guests, so we had a huge budget for cake, but ended up under budget in this category while still having plenty for everyone. We didnât have any leftovers, because when the caterer started to box up the leftovers guests came running over to grab more pieces!
All 3 cake flavors are great but the mousses are TO DIE FOR. We ended up giving our guests 3 cake choicesâ chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, raspberry mousse, and chocolate ganache; citrus pound cake with lemon mousse and strawberry mousse and buttercream icing; and vanilla cake with hazelnut mousse, espresso mousse, and chocolate ganache. It was SO HARD to choose these combinations because it all tasted so good. And, we were able to provide all of those choices at only $2.50 per person..... unbelievable.
Iâve seen some reviews claiming they were treated rudely... I guess I can see why someone would feel that way if theyâve gotten used to all the bridal butt-kissing you get during the wedding planning process. Pat was professional and very efficient. She didnât mess around and waste our time, and she went above and beyond what we expected out of a bakery. She has a no-nonsense attitude but wasnât dismissive or rude... just an expert in her field who knows what will and wonât work.
We recently bought a readymade Chocolate Three-Way cake from them for our anniversary and it was pure bliss. Everything weâve tried is just delicious. Stop considering and...
Read moreI was so happy to see Sugaree reopened, but under a different owner. I was curious about their pies and I was told by the new owners that everything is the same. Same recipes, same techniques, same everything. However, while anyone can have the exact same recipes, itâs the love that someone gives that makes half of the pie. Now, I really want to give the new Sugaree 2 stars, but I am hoping they will read and try to improve so I can give them 5 stars as I have before. So, hereâs my experience on the new pies: Similar in taste, but thereâs a lot that is off. Crust is not the same. It is much more gooey dough than being having more texture and crispness. Filling for the apple pie has way more applesauce than apples and the apples in it are way too mushy. There is not the same amount of filling in the pie. Itâs about half of what it used to be.
If youâre looking for a great pie, Sugaree has some work to do. Hopefully they can put a lot more heart and unconditional passion in it and turn things around because the previous owners made some big shoes to fill. If the new owners cannot improve, the new Sugaree will just be another pie place that goes out of business like most of the...
Read moreI submitted a request about a tasting last week with sugaree. After not hearing from them, I figured Iâd just give them a quick call and see if I could get more details about scheduling a tasting over the phone. A woman answered and as I began to say I was calling about a tasting for a wedding she instantly cut me off and said very rudely and aggressively âIâm sure youâd love to talk about your wedding but I donât have the time. Iâm making X amount of pies, itâs my busiest year for pies and I donât have time to talk to you about your wedding as much as Iâm sure youâd love to do that. I might be getting back to wedding inquiries in the coming month but I donât have time for this.â I hadnât even gotten a full sentence out. I told her Iâd be taking my service elsewhere since she was so rude right off the bat. Iâm not in a rush and there were far better ways she couldâve gone about that. The last thing any bride or groom needs when planning their wedding is a rude, cranky old hag for...
