I was impressed to say the least. I was out on a beautiful day searching for a different "spot" to take my mum for brunch/breakfast. We stopped at 2 places on the Hill but both were closed until 4or5.. Heyyy people still want brunch on Saturday ya know! Sasha's on Shaw was the next one on the list and it should have been the first. We walked into a chill atmosphere with happy music playing softly in the background and were soon greeted by Mercari our server. We both went with the Eggs your way and MAN those mashed potato bites are FIRE šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„ and the drinks put us where we needed to be. Come come come and see for yourself 🄰

we LOVED the place, we LOVED the food, and we LOVED the wine. the service sucked however...our waiter sparingly visited our table and other servers and staff filled in for him. we watched him put on his coat and leave without saying a word to us and we sat for almost 40min with NO ONE checking on us. i had to ask the greeter for togo boxes and our checks. yeah we know they were busy and it was a friday evening but EVERYONE else was being serviced while we sat w empty wine glasses and scraps on our plates...disappointing. perhaps we will give them another try. perhaps we will not...so disappointed.

We had such a lovely time here! I’m not sure if the music is great every night, but the music was phenomenal when we went (Frank Ocean, Daniel Caesar). The spinach and artichoke dip was to die for 🤤 I’d visit again just to eat that. Their glasses of wine are on the pricey side. I paid $12 for one glass and the very next day, I found an entire bottle of the same wine for $15. I loved my time here so I’ll definitely be back!

I’m not really one to post reviews, but I’m incredibly shocked at the level of service that I received this evening at this once revered St. Louis establishment. It’s a Tuesday evening, there’s not a lot of people around and I’m dining by myself. I wanted to sit outside because the temperature is perfect. The host, who is playing 3 roles this evening as host/bartender/table server, hands me my menus and tells me to seat myself. That felt off to me because there is a sign right in front of the host stand that says you have to see the host to be seated. I don’t mind picking my own seat but it was just odd. I’m not used to white glove service here so it didn’t really cause me that much concern until I look at it in light of the rest of the experience. Now you might be saying to yourself that I should have some sympathy they were short staffed. Except for the fact that there were maybe 10 patrons total ans 2 people working behind the bar for all of them. I’ve never waited tables but that doesn’t seem like a huge stretch. There were maybe 3 occupied tables outside and some patrons at the bar and no one sitting at tables inside. I seat myself and the host/bartender/table server comes over to me with water and proceeds to spill a bit on my pants. In his defense I don’t think he realized this and I didn’t make a big deal out of it because it was just a little bit of water. I order a glass of cava, which comes in a mini bottle, which he spills all over the table, but thankfully not on my pants. He apologizes and grabs me a second glass on the house. But it turned out to not even be the same wine. It wasn’t as dry as my cava, I think it was a Prosecco. Not what I was aiming for. Now I’ve been nothing but polite and understanding through all of this. I haven’t complained. I order my crepe, and the sauce that it normally comes with on the side is missing. I wait 10 minutes, maybe longer, thinking someone will come and check on me. The thought in my head is that I’ve received more attentive service in Italy, a place that isn’t really known for fast or attentive service. At this point the feeling that I’m getting from my trinitarian server is that I’m an inconvenience. When I walk up to the bar to ask for the sauce that comes with the crepe, I explain the issue, ā€œHey, I didn’t get this thing.ā€ And he responds, ā€œyeah,ā€ and then silence for a few seconds while he is staring me in the face. ā€œCan you bring me the sauce please?ā€ ā€œYeah.ā€ Nothing about being sorry, nothing to acknowledge that I’ve already had a bad night here and there’s another strike to add to the list.

Now I’ve had bad service at this location. Usually just of the inattentive variety. But I’ve ensured a lot at this location previously. I’ve been on the patio with mice darting all around my feet. I’ve sat at the bar for 10 minutes on a slow night before anyone acknowledged my existence. All the things. This is too much now. I will...

I've heard such good things about Sasha's, and I love Scarlett's, which is what makes my first experience here so disappointing. It's not uncommon for me to go into places and settle in for a while with a book or my laptop, order a few glasses of wine, and then tip well and leave. I never do it on Friday or Saturday nights or anything like that, and I always warn the waitstaff. I tried Sasha's for the first time, setting up at a table out of the way of everyone, even though there were only about two tables occupied in the building and maybe two or three on the patio. I requested just a glass of wine, nothing fancy, and for my next two drinks, had the same wine again. The atmosphere was really nice, the music was good, and the wine list was extensive. The service I had, however, was terrible. The guy that waited on me was extremely unfriendly, ignoring any of the times that I tried to smile at him, thank him, etc. Each time he came to my table, the most I got out of him was 'another?', and he slammed down each glass of wine, scowling the whole time. It was some of the unfriendliest service I've ever had, and I considered leaving early because of it. When shift change came, I chatted with two other staff members, and both of them were MUCH friendlier, which brought my rating higher. I will definitely come back and try again, hoping this time was just a fluke.

EDIT: I went back later in the week in the evening and the guy who served me the first time wasn't there. The server I had the second time was very nice and helpful and made the entire experience much more enjoyable. I only had wine and cheese so I can't comment on much of the other food, but the wine and the cheese were both good, and I increased my rating from my previous visit because although the server I had last time made my experience bad, I don't want that to be a...

I normally am not this kind of person ,but it has been one to two many times I have been to Sasha's on Shaw and have been treated poorly and have had horrible service. Today was the last straw when we waited over an hour for three appetizers until my fiancĆ© gets our server’s/bartender’s attention at the bar then for him to eventually come over with an attitude because we came to the bar to ask for more drinks, mind you he wasn’t checking on us the whole time being there. Didn’t even see if we liked the drinks lol. We waited an entire 55 minutes to get 3 appetizers which were all dips and chips type appetizers! Then on top of that to find out the owner was in building when this is going on is outrageous! I don’t know who Sasha’s thinks they are, but I won’t be back and I will tell anyone not to go there. It’s sad that this is in a place I have grown up seeing and to know all the times I have been I have been treated like I’m not welcome. This is in the heart of Shaw around all different kinds of people who live around there. I have never felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome in my own neighborhood. Lastly if you go there do not get served by Josh he was the server we had, but come to find out he is one of the managers. Honestly best of luck if you do end up going because if you don’t look a certain way or maybe know the people who work there they will give you...
