The Mack (Bar & Grill) — Restaurant in St. Louis

Even though the staff and service was excellent and top-notch my rating is based on the food. Before the pandemic they had an incredible menu with huge tasty burgers, Saint Louis style pizza, and many other items. the only thing that still seems to remain that is incredible are the Bavarian breadsticks. Instead of having a Imo's type quality pizza they now have what looks like a homemade pizza with only a few different toppings as options. also they don't seem to have a dishwasher anymore because everything is served on paper plates and paper containers. even the drinks are served in those little plastic cups that you buy like a 20 pack for a dollar at the dollar store. My friends got beer on draft and it too was served in a medium-sized plastic cup. They don't even have physical menus anymore. Your phone better have a barcode scanner app. I can't say I had a horrible experience but sadly the food was not so great. but if you're looking for a friendly atmosphere in the bar experience, this is still a great place to go. as the entire building was soon filled up with many many...

So I usually go here, it WAS my go to spot before tonight. The evening wasn't much but it really went down when my friend and me were getting our things together. I had turned to my right when I saw a shadow running past me which turned out to be a rather large MOUSE. In the view of two waitresses and several others including customers IT SCURRIED ALONG AND PUSHED ITS LITTLE BODY INTO A GAP BETWEEN THE FLOOR AND WALL. If you think that is bad, the rest is worse. So as we are leaving my friend is caring our to go boxes that we already had before the incident. WHEN SHE LOOKS TO HER HAD THEIR IS GOD DAMN LICE ON IT. Also later, once in my car, she tells me how she saw several men in the back not wearing anything like hairnets despite having bushy beards and long hair. So to summarize: Mice, lice, not doing the best with hygiene. So no sorry, but not really, as much as I liked it and had memories there I will CERTAINLY not...

Still one of the best burgers in the area! The Mack is not fancy. Don't go looking for fancy food or decor, or fancy beer-you can find that in the next block. It's a neighborhood gathering spot, where at any time you will find families, buddies at the bar, couples on early dates (so obvious, so cute) and--maybe the best part--your neighbors. I've never visited the Mack without seeing at least one person I know, usually a neighbor, but not always. Once we walked in to see a coworker from Creve Coeur who was down for 1/2 price pizza Sunday! There's always a game on, and there are always people outside smoking right by the door, which is the only thing I'd change. Just maybe down the sidewalk where the smoke is avoidable.
