I grew up in Bevo and have seen this place millions of times. Why it took me until last night to finally step in the door I have no idea. I mean I LOVE this place. First let's start with we were at Das Bevo and looking for another bar and the manager said to check it out. His description was " it looks and feels like your grandpa's basement" also Tim still bartends. We were sold! The minute we walked in all of us gasped with excitement. Suddenly we were transported back to the 70's. Wood grain wall, carpet lining the bar, coat check, dimmly lit, jute box from what had to have been from when he opened, pink cut out lady silhouettes, and finally Tim standing there proud and smiling happy to see us. We sat at the bar and talked to Tim for hours such history he told us all about his almost 40 years in buisness walked us around showing us things and giving the story behind it. Last call came and none of of us wanted to leave we could have listened to him talk all night. Our...
Read moreIf you haven't been to Tim's Chrome Bar you need to fix that. It's the coolest place in the city for sure. From the cozy 70s decor to the super friendly staff, to the homemade Appetizers. What's not to LOVE!! We went there for there FREE sun bingo. Where you get 10 FREE rounds of bingo and a dauber. We picked the best seats in the house but I'm a little jealous I didn't pick a table because they had free visors that I swear I wore in 1985 at 6 flags lol. It instantly brought me back to my childhood. This is the perfect place to go and forget about all the world's problems and enjoy a night of fanominal hand made cocktails and a round of Bingo. Last but not least by winning you not only prove that your all that but you are also given a bag of chips proving that no one else can top you for the night. I can wait to be all that and a bag of chips next week, hopefully you'll...
Read moreI lived in Bevo for 4 years and drove past this place nearly every day without ever going. After having a reason to cruise through Bevo again, my interest was renewed, and I had to go... everything I read about this place was spot on, it is truly a genuine time capsule. The decades of cigarette smoke still oozes from every surface. I'm rather certain nothing has changed in here since it was opened in 1977.
The gentleman playing guitar and singing along with pre-recorded background music could have easily been a stunt double for Christopher Lloyd as Doc in Back to the future. We were definitely the youngest people in here by at least a couple decades, but were met with warm smiles and friendly greetings. Drinks were stiff and cheap, so if you're looking for a good time coupled with a blast from the past, definitely stop in...
