Heine Brothers Coffee - Chenoweth Lane — Restaurant in St. Matthews

I haven’t been to this coffee shop before but in all other coffee shops when you place your order and the order is ready, they call your name. My date and I placed our order and sat within distance of the counter, waiting for a name to be called. We saw the workers there helping others looking over at us, but never heard anything. I get up to go check out the other room and notice our order has been sitting on the counter the whole time. Mine was a frozen one, so it was halfway melted. Not once when I was there and they looked over to us did they say your beverages are ready. When I said something to someone, they said oh my shift just started. As far as atmosphere, very sterile and very loud music.

I really like the way that this Cafe is set-up and it definitely has a very relaxing vibe. Moreso than your average coffee chain Cafe. Everything here is super comfortable, from the tables and comfortable chairs, to the relaxing music that is at a reasonable volume. For those reasons, this Cafe has be one my number one destination to come and do work, during the time that I'm here in Louisville. I came in at around 1w noon and even then there were 4 or 5 customers doing work on their laptops. There were at least employees that I saw working behind the counter, so ordering my drink was fast and painless. I ordered the large Creamy Vanilla Cold Brew Coffee. I hadn't been to a Heine Brothers Coffee location before, and I really enjoyed this space, and the focus on fair trade and ecologically responsible coffee. However, given my limited budget, I don't think I can afford to make it a habit to go here. My small sandwich, yogurt, and little drink came to $13, which is more than I'd usually want to spend even at an actual freshly prepared meal, let alone a quick bite. Also, the items aren't labelled clearly with the prices, so the total cost came kind of as a surprise for me.
