I go to the Big Apple mainly for vanilla cream donuts. After waiting outside in the line over a half hour, the guy ahead of me orders a dozen donuts. Before paying he asks for another half dozen. The person behind the counter say we only allow a dozen per customer, but for you I'll allow another six. Naturally my turn comes up, and he took the last of the vanilla cream. My half hour of waiting in line from the 8am opening was totally in vein. I had to go next door to Acme where they had plenty of vanilla cream donuts. The bakery is filled with items nobody is buying, but they don't make enough vanilla creams for the rest of the poor soul that were in a half hour wait behind me either? From now on, I go straight to Acme. And half the price too. UPDATE 9/19/25 I took the opportunity to return again after invitation by the owners response to my original review. On my return visit I was please to find that they did have a sufficient supply of the cream donuts to go around, although now in the off season. I updated my rating accordingly with 4 stars on the 3 categories. After reading owners response to my current update, I gave 3 stars overall. And, that was because I was ASKED to remove my original review before I left, even without his considering what my genuine response was after my second try. Isn't that the purpose of having these reviews? Honest opinions for the public benefit? I gave four stars to the other categories, which is pretty good.. The owner offered nothing to compensate for the wasted time and inconvenience on my original visit. At $2.00 a donut and the long off season coming I'd think pretty carefully about how to treat the year round residents. This wasn't the way. That's my opinion. UPDATE 9/25/25 ONCE AGAIN THIS OWNER MAKES FALSE STATEMENTS REGARDING MY REVIEWS. HE CLAIMS THEY CAN'T MAKE ME HAPPY. I GAVE 4 STARS ON THE THREE CATEGORIES! APPARENTLY, HE CAN'T BE HAPPY WITH THAT!!! AND I GOT NEWS FOR YOU, ITS NOT THE BEST CREAM DONUT I EVER ATE! THE THREE OVERALL JUST GOT REDUCED TO TWO BECAUSE OF HIS POOREST ATTITUDE DISPLAYED YET TO CUSTOMER SERVICE. CAN'T MAKE ME HAPPY?THEY'RE NOT EVEN TRYING! JUST COMPLAINING ABOUT REVIEWS IS NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE. THAT'S MY OPINION...

I recently ordered a custom cake from Big Apple Bakery for my daughter Lily’s baptism, and it came out absolutely amazing. The design featured a beautiful cross, and the strawberry chocolate filling was out of this world. Not only did it look incredible, but it tasted even better!
We ordered a cake for about 30 people, and they went above and beyond — the portion was generous, and everyone got to take some home. That’s the sign of a true bakery that cares about its customers.
The staff and owners, Joe and his family, are some of the kindest and most genuine people you’ll ever meet. They make the entire experience personal and special from start to finish. It’s local businesses like this that make a real difference — hardworking families putting love and care into everything they do.
We also had 6 pounds of cookies and another cake for my father-in-law’s retirement. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully made. Even five days later, the cookies were still soft and tasted freshly baked — that’s unheard of!
Their communication was top-notch, too. They confirmed everything ahead of time, called us when the order was ready, and made pickup super easy.
If you’re looking for a bakery that delivers top-quality products with amazing customer service, Big Apple Bakery is the one. Great people, great service, great food — they truly deserve all the praise.
Thank you, Joe and the entire Big Apple Bakery family, for making our...
Read moreI've been here twice in the past month and the pastries are good, no problem with that. The problem I have is the women who helped me each time I went. How on earth is it that you have two of the rudest women working in the same establishment lol. The last time I went was labor day, I had just gotten off of work and was picking up pastries for a bbq and the woman working was acting like I was bothering her. I asked if they had any sfogliatellas left and her response was the most annoyed ugh and a sharp "IN THAT CASE OVER THERE!" The whole time I'm picking out what to get she would like huff and puff..seeing a woman double my age acting like that is yucky lol. Sorry for giving you business I guess? She then decides that it's a good idea to put 50$ worth of pastries in tiny little sh1tty plastic containers instead of the white boxes I'm staring at that are stacked right behind her, so now I'm fumbling 7 little plastic boxes that keep popping open and falling over..she just stares at me blank face, obviously clear she can't be bothered. Who wants to go buy treats but also get an extra side of the the maloik? Horrible attitudes, no warmth...straight up RUDE. Same vibe from the other older woman I got stuck with the first time I went there. The guy working was friendly though, he came over and gave me a paper bag for my mountain of plastic boxes and was much more helpful and pleasant..he must have his hands full with that lovely crew.....
