The Ultimate Vietnamese Sandwich Experience: A Feast for the Senses at Vietwich
There are few places in town that can genuinely boast of creating an unforgettable culinary experience, but Vietwich brick and mortar business is one such gem. With its friendly vibes and the mouth-watering Vietnamese sandwiches on offer, this quaint eatery has truly won my heart and stomach.
Nestled in a bustling area, Vietwich is an unassuming yet inviting establishment perfect for a quick grab for lunch or dinner. Step inside, and you're greeted with warm, friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere that feels like an embrace from an old friend. The walls are adorned with vibrant Vietnamese artwork, instantly transporting you to the streets of Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
The star of the show is, without a doubt, their Vietnamese sandwich, known as the "Banh Mi." Upon my first bite, I was blown away by the harmonious medley of flavors and textures that danced on my palate. The bread, freshly baked and crusty on the outside yet soft and fluffy on the inside, perfectly cradled the generous filling. The tender, flavorful meat (I opted for the traditional grilled pork) was accentuated by the crunch of the pickled vegetables and the zing of the jalapeños. A generous smear of house-made pâté and mayonnaise elevated the sandwich to a whole new level of deliciousness.
For those who love a twist, my recommendation is to ask for a fried egg to be added to the sandwich. The rich, runny yolk oozes out with every bite, adding a luxurious creaminess that further enhances the entire experience.
As you savor your Banh Mi, it's interesting to take a moment to appreciate its history. The sandwich's origins can be traced back to the French colonization of Vietnam in the late 19th century. The French brought their love for baguettes and pâté to Vietnam, and the locals ingeniously melded these ingredients with their native herbs, spices, and meats. This fusion gave birth to the Banh Mi, a sandwich that has since become an emblem of Vietnamese culinary prowess.
It is evident that the folks at Vietwich have put a lot of heart and soul into crafting their Banh Mi. The friendly atmosphere, exceptional service, and most importantly, the heavenly sandwiches have made this place a must-visit. I wholeheartedly agree that Vietwich deserves more attention, so the next time you're in the neighborhood, don't miss the chance to indulge in a truly unforgettable Vietnamese...

This may be a long post, but lots of details for my recommendation.
I met my husband for lunch today at Vietwich and I was impressed. Let me say that being Vietnamese and knowing how to cook my favorite Viet dishes, I am pretty critical of Vietnamese food, especially bánh mì because the popularity has made it quite commercialized, therefore, not very authentic or high quality. I am constantly looking for good bánh mì. My aunt and uncle own a Vietnamese sandwich shop, but I prefer not to name it at this time - I only mention it to say I am not partial to it just because they own a sandwich shop.
My favorite bánh mì is the grilled pork - so that's the one I ordered. Meat was flavorful and quality cuts. Vegetables were fresh and the baguette was perfectly crunchy/soft. Some places have either too crunchy or too soft, and sometimes, the flavor of the baguette itself isn't great. I also had their Vietnamese coffee (iced). Since I also make this at home, I am even more critical because I LOVE coffee. Theirs was prefect - strength of the coffee and the flavor were on point, not too watered down, not too sweet. We also tried their strawberry banana smoothie and it was also good.
Their customer service was great - we even chatted with the owner for a bit (always fun for me because I love to cook and I love good food). He works hard and really wants to provide quality Vietnamese food. I can't wait to try some of his new items that he says he is working on; I am also interested in other people's take on his food. He is super nice and I wish his business the best!
If you are in the area, go visit them - you'll be glad you tried it!
I will add that, although their prices aren't of those found in Bellaire, if you understand the work that it takes to run a small business, and the price of quality ingredients, etc they are still very...

The wonderful cashier Veronica quickly let me know that she had a battery car starter she can help me with. Didn't take more than a minute for her to assist me in jumping my car. May God bless you Veronica! Thank you so much! Food was delicious as always
I wrote a review not too long ago, and I just have to go in with my second account to write another one...it's THAT good. I understand that Vietwich is currently going through a 'Soft Opening' and that is why I have patience in regards to the lack of staff, but they still work with what they have and provide great customer service. The quality of the food is already phenomenal. I can only imagine once they are fully staffed and have all of their ducks in a row how amazing it will be. I ordered something different today to try it out. I ordered the Enoki Tofu Banh Mi with extra mayo. First of all, I have experience with tofu (taste and texture) so I was not afraid to give this a try. The tofu was perfectly seared and the oyster sauce is a beautiful match with it. I am HOOKED...that will be my go to from now on. Second I ordered the Okinawa Pearl Milk Tea, they had me at 'roasted brown sugar flavor'. Delicious tea, and a good amount of it for the price. I ordered by phone this time since I only have a 30 minute lunch, the food was almost ready when I came to pick it up but I did not wait longer than 5 minutes. I will be...
