How disappointed am I with this property? Enough to write my review twice. The 1st was on our way home. Google updated my location upon arrival & DELETED MY REVIEW. Here I go again. The redeeming qualities of this hotel are the EXTREMELY friendly, hardworking staff, the great drainage in the parking lot, the teeny bottle of Paul Mitchell Awapuhi shampoo in our room. That’s it. Hurricane Nicholas was rolling in. We arrived 30 min prior to check in, nice Italian lady @ front desk checked us in while fielding countless phone calls RE: the property being under new ownership. ? My online reservation was for a handicap accessible room. The clerk reconfirmed, saying she thought I may have chosen the room by mistake. My disability is not readily noticeable, so this has happened before. I have stability issues that make a handicap accessible room a necessity for me. I confirmed my need for the room. We received #210. Aside from the handrails on the bathtub & the low peephole, this room is hardly handicap accessible. Thankfully I’m not currently in a wheelchair. If I were, I could NOT navigate this room smoothly. Just getting around on foot was a challenge. Add my spouse & service animal, maneuverability was outright dangerous. Our room was gross. The walls, ceiling & carpet were filthy, stained, etc. The carpet was like a scene from Forensic Files. There was black mold on the mattes of the pictures & on either side of the cabinet that housed the microwave & mini fridge. My allergies were through the roof & I didn’t bring my saline rinse or allergy sprays since this was a reputable chain & our stay was 1 night. Painful mistake. This hotel is in dire need of a complete overhaul. There were no easy access electrical outlets on either nightstand. The outlet on my side of the bed (if you want to consider it’s placement that) was about 12”+ deep from my side of the headboard, no where near the nightstand. My lamp was unplugged (probably from previous guests who needed to plug essential items) so I wrestled to reconnect the lamp & then my phone charger. I am not exaggerating when I say it took me almost 5 minutes & the flashlight from my phone to get 2 things plugged in. I was NOT HAPPY & I have the bruises to prove it. The outlet on my husband’s side was accessible, however only 1 electrical outlet was available. What to plug in? His apnea machine or the GPS to get us home? The fridge had a good amount of shelves & cooled adequately, however the freezer had empty wrappers in it & something brown melted/frozen to the bottom. Disgusting. Killed 2 roaches found while lights were on. I don’t want to know what came out in the dark. The bathroom was spacious & had stabilizer bars in the tub, 2 rolls of TP (nice since there’s no daily housekeeping) & a visible tissue holder (thanks for that, since my allergies were severe, I was blowing my nose throughout our stay). The shower/sprayer had one mode, a wide spray radius that blasted everything but the person bathing. Close the curtain tight, twist, turn & tilt to rinse. No floor mat provided, use a bath towel to keep from slipping upon exit. The mattress was acceptable for one night, although 3 pillows on a king size bed was skimpy. I found the housekeeper and recv’d 1 more pillow. The gym was dark, all equipment unplugged. In the morning we went down for breakfast, there was NOTHING. I get that this is a pandemic, but I’ve stayed@lower price La Quinta/Wyndham hotels that at least provided “grab bag breakfast.” This hotel had nothing but hot water (much appreciated, I can only drink tea) & weak coffee. That’s it. I tried to make coffee in our room, but when I put water in the reservoir nasty debris floated to the top. (See pics.) While gathering our belongings to check out, I discovered a power strip attached to the leg of the desk, w/ a total of 2 add’l outlets. The other outlets on the strip were in use/blocked by room items plugged in. There are no USB ports anywhere in the room. This hotel is overpriced by at least $15/night. Regardless of any price, we will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

BEWARE ONLY STAY AS A LAST RESORT This was a horrible experience. I love staying at la Quinta for it's affordability and usually a good/great stay.. However, out of all the locations, I've been to across the the country.., I'd have to stay that this location was my most unpleasant stay i have ever had.. I only want to use kind words.. We were able to check in fine, but no towels in our room..we were told they would come back and drop them off, but they never did. We picked it up from the front and it was fine. BUT felt unsafe in the room because of how it closed, maybe the door latch is secure? The fire sprinklers looked damaged as well. The room felt gross with moisture, the AC was outdated and didn't seem to work properly. There was water damage all along the wall and ceiling where the AC was located. Worst sleep of my life, the bed held all of the moisture or the bedding was not fully dry.. it was pretty much like sleeping outside right after it rains in the texas summer heat, but without the summer heat. We were up pretty early due to the terrible night sleeping, and then we found german cockroaches crawling around. Normally I would ask for a refund, but the night was so TerribleI wanted to just get out of there. I am never coming to this location ever again and would recommend it as an extremely last resort. Ee decided we will make arrangements with family sleeping on the couch rather than staying here if we cannot afford a room/if others are booked.

So the good and the bad: Good- Nice clean rooms and bathrooms, A/C worked well, no issues with the accommodations. The front desk staff was friendly and quick about getting people checked in. When I let the clerk know that it appeared that a little kid had drawn on our TV, she assured me it would be taken care of quickly (I wasn't watching TV so it wasn't urgent, but I wanted the hotel to know about it). So for the most part, I liked the hotel and it was a good value for the price. The Bad- The breakfast options were paltry to say the least. A few cereal options, some packages of unflavored oatmeal/grits, and that's about it. They only had one waffle maker, so if you're unlucky enough to come down after a family, you're gonna be waiting in line for awhile for a waffle. So my daughter and I are a quick bowl of cereal and checked out so we could go get a decent hot breakfast elsewhere. For the price of the hotel, I wouldn't normally expect much more in regards to breakfast, but it's also a La Quinta which used to mean a good breakfast (eggs, potatoes, biscuits, things like that). Also, the wifi didn't work. It appeared to be connected, but I couldn't get it work, so I had to turn wifi off on my phone and use cell data. All in all, it's a decent option if you're in a budget or traveling solo, but I wouldn't take the whole family.

If you are looking for a place for an extended stay I would stay away from this establishment.

The staff are generally (with the exception of a couple of people) unfriendly and not concerned with any sort of issues that may arise during your stay.

The keys work well for the first week or so but after awhile they need to be reprogrammed every other day or so. One set stopped working at 5am when I had taken my dog out in the morning. Why would anybody have keys that deactivate before most people are even awake?

The hotel states it is pet friendly but had no real area for dogs to go when you take them outside and they do not provide a stand for bags or a proper disposal area for waste so it tends to pile up in the one strip of grass on the side of the building, which is the perfect place for the next pet comes by to step in it and track it everywhere.

If you are expecting important mail during your stay, it would be best advised to rent a P.O. Box and retrieve it from the post office as opposed to allowing it to be addressed to the hotel. Several of my federal documents that had been addressed there 'never arrived'...

Also, do not expect any phone calls to your room, other than from the front desk. I had received complaints from people being unable to contact me after calling several times and being transfer by the front desk. The phone rang a total of 4 times during my entire stay of over a month when people were trying to call through several times a week...

The hotel offers smoking and non-smoking rooms but regardless, every room smells of smoke as they do not have any sort of seal around the doors and the smell flows through into the hall and into other rooms. This added to the fact that there seems to be no actual designation of which rooms are smoking or non-smoking just adds to the issue.

The building itself is run down. The room on the second floor had major cracks from the window frame to the ceiling and it looked as though they were progressively becoming worse over the course of a week before we were moved to another room.

The toilets do not have enough pressure to flush properly and with any more than the minimal amount of paper it will cause it to clog, leaving you to go to the front desk and ask for the plunger which makes for a very fun walk back to your room...

The bathtubs are improperly sealed and do not drain properly. After a shower I waited to see how long it would take the water to drain. There were still several inches of water in the tub the next morning.

The hotel staff does not show any concern when called about noise complaints. I'm not talking about a couple people out in the hall talking loudly at 9pm. I mean a group of people yelling across the hall from room to room at almost 1am when any normal person is trying to sleep.

They advertise 'High Speed Internet' but a simple speed test shows that the download speed is about 2.0Mbps and the upload speed is 0.4Mbps. If you need to do anything dealing with transferring large files across the network you may as well find another place with free Wi-Fi as the network slows to a crawl and it can often take an hour or more to upload one file. Do not attempt to use Skype, and it barely holds up to watch anything on Netflix. (which is required as you have about 20 channels available to you, some of which only work some of the time)

The elevators randomly open on the ground floor for no reason at all. This is especially pleasant when it happens between 2am and 4am.

The police were parked out front twice during our stay for at least 2 hours at a time.

The ground floor often smells like weed.

If you're looking for a cheap place to stay for a few hours this might make a decent location. Worst 'La Quinta' I've stayed at in the country.

Long term stay rating - 1 star

In addition: The manager paid no attention to any complaints, did not answer my wife's call or bother responding to her voicemail, until she was emailed a survey...

The Manager at this doesn’t care about you or your stay at their hotel. Rooms infested with cockroaches and spiders

Most of the staff besides the manager is very friendly and helpful as long as you don’t have any issues. If you do they are not able to do anything to help you. You either have to come back when a manger is available or they tell you to email the manager or leave a message with their staff. Both of those options won’t get you anywhere. This manager at this hotel doesn’t care at all and when I stayed there last September he hadn’t shown up, email me back or call me. Not even sure why he’s a manager and some the staff there said the same thing. I wouldn’t book here. The first day I checked in I ended up switching to 3 different room because each room was infested with spiders. Not just 1 or 2 but half a dozen and more. Even when the staff worked walking in first into the second room there was a spider and a battle crawling across the floor. It was so gross. Then on then4th room it seemed spider and bug free however the AC if running leaked water all over the floor. And the way I found out was I got up to go to the bathroom and almost broke my neck and threw out my back by slipping on the water. I would wake up and more than 40% of the floor was covered in water. It was 106 degree out how could I not run the ac. I finally put a handful of towels under the AC so that it would catch all the water but even that didn’t work. The front desk told me they would send someone in to fix it the next day but it was never fixed and I couldn’t move rooms because they didn’t have any available. The worst part of this was I stay for 4 days. And two of the days I used my reward points to book 2 free nights. So I wasted my hard earned points on a horrible room. The pictures on Google don’t represent the actual rooms. But they have a major bug infestation in there and a manager that doesn’t care.

They told me I had to email him but that he would get back to me right away. It’s been 10 months and I’m still waiting to hear from him. They never got back to me. Even on my second day I asked the desk if she was coming in or got my email. The desk said they normally get back and would leave him a message to reach out to me. Again The manager never called, texted or emailed me back. Just sucks that they don’t care. And I wasted my points and money...
