I was at West beach on Sunday and ordered to go from Brennans. I called in my order of the spinach quesadilla and the little neck clams appetizer which was priced at $12.99 on their online menu.
When i went to pick up my food my bill was higher than i anticipated, but the bartender had already run my credit card. I questioned why my check was higher, she told me the little neck clams are $20. That's $7 more than the advertised price, which is A LOT! I asked that they honor their advertised price, but she said she is only a manager and is not able to make decisions like that.
I've been in the service industry for over ten years... managers are always empowered to make those decisions, which speaks volumes as to how the owner manages her business.
The manager took my phone number and name and said i would have to wait for the owner to call me. The owner called me several hours later. I was very polite and explained what had happened. Mind you this is a small community and I support local business owners... this business owner doesn't care about her customers, nor the community in which her restaurant operates.
She told me she would not honor her advertised price bc it is on their website. She said their menu says MP. I asked if she felt like it is her responsibility to update the pricing on her website and she agreed that it is her responsibility, but she would not honor the advertised price.
This business owner would rather admittedly and wrongfully keep $7 in her pocket than service a customer. She's guilty of false advertising, but even worse, not having a care or concern for her customer's experience and the restaurants reputation in the community....
Read moreI rarely write reviews, but I read a ton of them. Decided to come here based on other's reviews, and was not disappointed. Had the salmon burger with steak fries (recommended on here) and it was perfect. Waitress was sweet.
Parking: The restaurant is literally in a housing neighborhood... just read the signs for places you can't park. Along the seawall/sand bank has spots.
Atmosphere: When I walked in it was 1 table of worker bros, and a bar full regulars. I must've looked like a deer in the headlights as a single female, because one of the guys at the bar told me to sit anywhere. Waitress and manager were nice but not overbearing. If I lived in the neighborhood, I would definitely regularly come here.
Food: Salmon burger and steak fries were great quality. A tiny bit pricy at over $18 for just that lunch entree, but the burger had lots of salmon chunks, so the quality...
Read moreThe food was mid. But what was really disappointing was the service. When we arrived the place was not very busy. It did get busier but not until after we ordered. Multiple tables arrived after us and left before us. We were there for 2 hours. And we had to ask for our bill the moment we got our food so we weren’t there for any longer. And even then we had to chase down the waitress to get it paid. Should have just dined and ditched. Lol. It was...
