I would not trust them when booking a private event. They made promises they didn’t keep and were unethical in the way they handled our verbal agreement. We had planned to have a rehearsal dinner, followed by a large welcome party in their event space and outdoor terrace. Their event manager, Helen, in response to my question about holding the space while we reviewed menu and various event options, told me she had placed a “hold” on the space for us while she sent me all the materials to review. She told me that if someone else wanted it, she would call to give me the right of first refusal. Immediately following our phone conversation, I emailed her with my questions and to arrange a visit to see the space. She didn’t respond to my email, so I tried to call her over the next several days, all to no avail. Meanwhile, we told guests that we had booked the space and stopped looking for anything else. Again, she had promised me that she was holding the space for us. About five days later, I received an email at midnight that she just needed to make sure that we were 100% ok on the space we wanted and that she would get back to me then following day. I responded back that we definitely wanted to host our event there. Again, I did not hear back for several days, after which i received a cold and unapologetic email that the space was no longer available and I should look for someplace else.
I worked in event planning for years and for the last 25 years was in a job in which we often booked outside spaces for private events. When someone told us they were holding the space for us, we had the right of first refusal if another offer came along. The lack of response to my emails and phone calls and then going back on her verbal commitment to me was incredibly unprofessional and a nasty way of doing business. Who knows what other promises they would have broken if we had put down a deposit and actually moved forward. Be careful if you choose to work with them. If they are that unprofessional starting out, they are likely equally unprofessional in executing...
Read moreI had my wedding at The Village on May 9, and I truly have nothing but amazing things to say. This experience far exceeded my expectations! At first, we were a little hesitant since The Village isn’t a traditional wedding venue—we were concerned that some details might fall through the cracks. But I can confidently say that was not the case at ALL.
A huge part of our incredible experience was thanks to Kaelan, the Director of Events. From the initial planning stages through the entire wedding day, she was by our side—responsive, attentive, kind, detail-oriented… truly everything you could hope for in an event coordinator. Her presence and support were absolutely key to the success of our day. I honestly can’t thank her and her team enough!
The venue itself is stunning—modern, stylish, and full of character, which was exactly the vibe we wanted. We didn’t want the typical banquet-style wedding, and The Village delivered something so much more special. And the food? Outstanding! Our guests are still raving about how delicious everything was—such a rare compliment when it comes to wedding food.
I’m still on cloud nine thinking about that night. Thank you to everyone at The Village for making our day so...
Read moreWhen the village submitted its application, it contained plans for a roof top patio for parties and music. Some measures or limitations were put in that affect for their eventual roof top patio. This building is across from a wetland, which is used by birds as a sanctuary, increasingly so until...very loud music, amplified additionally by the water in between, started coming from the street level terrace of the building. That seems like a loophole used to circumvent the limitations. As much as I love music, I find the gross lack of respect for the neighbors and the environment concerning. There are much less migratory birds this year, and there is a number of complaints from residents on a weekly basis. When this problem is remediated, I might remove my comment. But that lack of respect for a wetland maintained by hundred of hours of residents volunteering to bring it to a healthy ecosystem, as well as constituents bothered inside their homes, deserves this...
