In fairness, I'd probably give Chicho's a 3.5 if I could. The restaurant is small, but super cute. I loved the interior sign - "all you need is love & tacos." The staff was friendly and helpful. So on to the food - I ordered Shrimp Tacos. Overall the tacos were good, but could be great. I thought the Mexican corn on the tacos was a really nice and cool addition. The chipotle slaw was ok, but could have had more chipotle kick, and honestly between the creamy corn and a creamy slaw, it was way too creamy. The diced onions on top were a little too big for my liking. I was disappointed by the shrimp as they seemed to be pre-made (frozen) popcorn shrimp. I was also disappointed that they only used one tortilla per taco. With corn tortillas, I am accustomed to have double tortillas, especially as full as the tacos were. It became a little challenging to eat the tacos. I am not sure if I would go out of my way to visit Chicho's again, but glad I tried them. Other notes: I had no issue parking, but it is...

My husband and I have ordered Chichos once a week for the last two months on Uber Eats. We were thrilled when we found them because we'd tried several places first while searching for our Mexican spot after moving to the area last summer, and we were disappointed in other restaurants.

Chichos food is FANTASTIC and super reliable. It's the same absolutely delicious, high quality, flavorful, incredible Mexican food each time we get it. I especially love the nachos with carnitas -- if you are a nachos monster like me, these will not disappoint!!! My husband experiments with a greater variety of menu options than me and he always loves everything he gets.

Chichos is definitely our go to Mexican spot in Stamford, and finding it made us feel one step closer to feeling like we were "home" after relocating...

UPDATE I left my old review because the elote still looks the same. But I've been ordering from here more frequent and the food really is good. I've tried just about all of their bowls and all good. Tinga de pollo or crispy chicken bowl are my favorite.

I don't like leaving bad reviews but this Eleto Loco is just what they dubbed it. LOCO for selling this. Wasn't charred, looked like it was missing stuff and their "pink sauce is nothing more than watered down mayoketchup. Severely disappointed because all their other stuff look good and coworkers got taco bowls and they looked good too. I didn't go to the restaurant in person which is why I left neutral review for service...

3.5 stars but food is solid compared to other local options. I will be back. More authentic than Bar Taco and Bodega but same pricing without the ambiance. Some seating but more of a take out spot (e.g., plastic silverware only). I love their barbacoa and carnitas tacos. I’ve previously had their fried shrimp tacos but was not a fan. The tortilla and creamy cole slaw were on point but the shrimp was your basic supermarket breaded frozen shrimps. More breading then shrimp. Solid guacamole and chips. The horchata is okay - too sweet for my taste. Not a fan of the Loco Elote but l don’t like Tajin chili powder. If you like it, you may enjoy it.

Had been eyeing this spot since it opened (just before the pandemic) to try the tacos and support a local biz. VERY SATISFIED to get my taco fix at Chichos. Got a good recommendation from helpful staff member to try the fried beef tacos ($10 for three) and was well fed with the good portion and REALLY IMPRESSED by the two salsas they offer (green and pineapple habañero), a nice balance of mild and hot n fruity 👍🏼 Looking forward to try other menu items but might be hard to not order the same thing again. Yum!!
