I spotted this place as I was on the train, and we went through the Glenbrook Train station. I thought I'd venture down and give it a try. It's a small place, charming enough and they have a couple of TV's inside. Since I was dining alone, I appreciated that. I ordered some chicken wings to start, and then the Fajitas as my main course. Each were very tasty, and I'm sure I'll go back to try this place again, as they've been there longer, and figure some things out.
For instance, I was really hoping for Chips and Salsa. I"m not an expert on Peruvian food, but the restaurant does say "Mexican Peruvian" and I just thought some Chips and spicy Salsa would have been a welcome addition. And that being so, I would have liked to have some Tomato based salsa to eat with the Fajitas as well. They do bring a very delicious sauce to the table with a couple of pieces of bread, but all in all, I'd rather have the Chips and Salsa.
And the margaritas are VERY average. I'm hoping that as they go forward, they perk up their margarita choices with maybe 3 or 4 top notch tequilas and then an award winning Margarita mix. Right now I think they have a mix that comes from a machine, and they add some Tequila to that. And it was okay, but certainly not stellar. Just my two cents.
But all in all, I thought the meal was good, and like I said, I will go back. The staff was all VERY friendly and seemed eager to please, which is always a plus. I'll add a couple of pictures that I took of...
Read moreOrdered from here because our usual go-to Mexican place closes at 9, but La Hacienda was still open. Got chicken taco salad, flautas, empanada, yucca fries, and chicken tacos. The chicken on the taco salad and in the tacos was rubbery and tasted like low quality chicken that has been frozen/thawed, or was sitting around for a while. My gf took three bites of the taco salad and didn't want more. I thought she was being dramatic, but I tried to eat some too and it was not good at all. Rubbery weird chicken breast, tortillas not fresh. As you can see, the taco salad bowl went into the trash, very disappointing. The yucca fries were good, the empanada was OK, and the flautas were OK. Flautas could have been good, but I bit into a couple chicken bones, and they sent them absolutely piled up with wet lettuce and tomato in a tinfoil container, so the crunchy flautas had become quite soggy. Won't be going back, overall not good...
Read moreMe and my coworkers love La Hacienda, the food is always good, THE SERVICE IS NOT!! I called today to place a delivery order, the woman who answered the phone was rude from the start. Not only did I have to repeat myself several times, (we both spoke in Spanish) she also hang up on me when I was still talking. I called back and asked what her name was, she said "Maria". When the order arrived an item was missing so I called back and spoke to another employee (very nice lady). She apologized and sent my missing item. I asked her what the name of the other lady was and she said that her name is "Yessi". So "Yessi" lied about her name, hangs up the phone on customers, and is very rude and...
