Not impressed. Great menu, but a lack-luster execution. Club wrap was drenched in yellow mustard? A hint of mayo, but mostly just overwhelming mustard and enormously diced white onions that squirted out while we tried to eat it. Literally 1/4 in diced white onions all over the plastic pack when we decided it was awkwardly prepared. We only had tiny black square bar Napkins to clean up with. I think we both used 10 each.
A club should have thinly Sliced onions (red?) And plenty of mayo. Not large diced onions jumping out. When we sat down to wait for our food I had my phone out to snap photos because I was so excited. I didn't take a single photo. Only place I visited the whole weekend that went undocumented.
It was a disappointment that we chose this place specifically for our lunch meal based off of menu research the previous day; 15 miles out of our way. Self serve, room temp water with no ice.
My partner got the Pesto panini that would've been incredible- with an actual spreading of sauce & longer cooking time. It wasn't crunchy at all, and was cold in the middle - no pannining. Light panini grill marks. Execution, ever so off. Young crew, probably minimally trained. Very dry. House made Pesto was great, but 1 tsp isn't satisfying anyone.
She gave me half of her panini upon realizing how sad i was with my wrap. We were both disappointed with the smoothie that we had. Banana overwhelming the tropical fruits that were supposed to be the main stars. Too much ice, watery. No orange juice flavor. Great concept, but poor execution. We wanted tropical refreshment and healthy flavors. Nooooo.
Environment was partly cafe style, but also messy and awkward. 7-10 different fluorescent lighting situations mixed with flood lights & recessed lighting made it very uncomfortable for my brain after coming in from a beautiful bright blue sky afternoon. Almost no natural lighting mixed with the shop lights and darkness was so strange.
So much potential. Honestly.
I absolutely love local joints that support Great causes. I have been cooking for 16 years now, mostly vegetarian, always local. They have everything going for them except the execution. Maybe we came on an off day? I guarantee I could've made our meal excellent with what they had in that kitchen. I watched it go awry. I wish this young...
Read moreReally convenient little coffee shop with a lot of offerings. My friends sausage and egg biscuit was pretty good. My sausage burrito was the most horrific awful nasty tasting thing I have ever put in my mouth. I went up to the window and asked them if they intended to put sweet sausage on a burrito. He said yes. I said well it doesn't taste very good. He said well everybody else likes it. Did not offer to give me something else. And given our time crunch I just left hungry and went hiking on an empty stomach. If I wanted maple syrup flavor on my burrito, I would pour syrup on my burrito. But a sweet maple syrup flavored sausage on a burrito is really gross. You should at least let people know that that's what you intend to put on it. The savory sausage that they have, the one that was on my friends biscuit, is good. But given how awful my burrito was and that their response was that everybody else liked it, which I cannot imagine anyone eating it, I had to give a negative review. Burritos are more of a spicy food, not a sweet food. Even when I took all of the toppings out and tried to pretend it was an omelet, it was super nasty. And I tasted it for hours like it would not ever...
Read moreMy family and visited here on our way out of Red river gorge. We stopped due to the reviews on breakfast and coffee. We went in and the line was to the back of the shop. We decided to go ahead and try it. Tables were very limited so my son and I grabbed a table once one came available while my husband and other son waited in line. When we came in the sign shows whatâs no longer available for the day. Nothing was mentioned on the biscuits and gravy. They waited in line for nearly 35 minutes to get to the front and be told they were all out of multiple items we wanted which were not listed on the sign at the beginning but was now after waiting for 35 minutes. There was a huge line so we just ordered our coffees and left. Suggestions they should have a sign by the menus further to the back so people waiting for so long can see whatâs available instead of waiting to find out multiple items were not available at the register. Second suggestion take 10 minutes and just drive to Bruenâs cafe in Stanton. Food and service were excellent. Plenty of tables and prices were great! And we didnât have to wait for 35 minutes...
