We've been coming here for years and it's changed, but not necessarily in a totally bad way. I ordered the satay combo (chicken and pork), but they only gave me chicken. Luckily, it was so good, I didn't mind. The meat was so flavorful on its own, but it comes with a peanut sort of sauce, but it actually took away from the chicken, so I didn't use it. I also got Thai beef salad. This was flavorful, but very spicy. My friend got the shrimp and tofu pad Thai and you can't go wrong with that. It seemed a little under sauced and they've been skimping out more and more on their ingredients every year, even though the prices keep getting higher and higher. I understand inflation, but please don't start serving lower quality food and/or smaller portions to save money because, pretty soon, loyal customers will stop eating out. I think my biggest thing is the soda. If you want to establish yourself as a restaurant with fancier tables and menu than fast food, please don't serve me soda out of a can that i need to open myself and charge $3.00. It's low class, insulting, and unappealing. You make other great drinks; invest in a soda fountain.
I thought there was a reason I hadn't been back in a while and now I'm starting to remember. I have very fond memories of this place, from years before, but they are slowly being replaced by disappointment and sadness. 4 stars is being generous at this point. I doubt I...
Read moreAll of the food today was too sweet, including some dishes that are not supposed to have sugar in them. It used to be better but now it seems like it is going downhill in quality. The prices are more expensive than many Thai restaurants on Hollywood Blvd which have better food and cheaper prices. Watch out and check your bill everytime at this restaurant. Sometimes item(s) that you didn't order might be on your bill. I don't know whether it is intentional or unintentional. They don’t give you a bill with the list of food that you ordered unless you ask for it. We saw the price was higher than what we thought it should be so we asked for the bill. Sure enough there was an unordered item on the bill. My Father talked politely to the waiter that we ordered the food from, but instead of apologizing he was rude and complained that we were making a big deal out of it. It would not be a big deal if he just apologized and removed it from out bill. But it became a big deal when we just asked him about it and he acted like a jerk!!! ALWAYS WATCH YOUR BILL EVERY TIME WHEN YOU GO TO THIS...
Read moreI went for a big Sunday night dinner and Thai Nakorn has served me with more than expected food. The food menu looks good with lots of photos, I rank this point very high on every restaurants.
The highlights of the night: Papaya Salad: very flavorful sauce and crunchy papaya Fish cake (Tod Mun): I love Tod Mun and I got to try Tod Mun wherever Thai restaurant I go. Super good! Fried Fish with Mango Salad Tom Yum Hot & Sour Soup Clams with Basil: their sauce is the best. You can order white rice and finish the whole bowl with this sauce! Garlic Shrimp: despite their not-very-catchy color, they are tasty and the garlic is crunchy. Pad See Ew BBQ Beef Durian with Sweet Rice: if you are a durian fan, it's a must! You don't get to see this desserts in many places. Mango with Sweet Rice: basic desserts you got to try in every Thai food.
