Horrible service! When we arrived there was only two other tables with people already sitting down. One was eating and the other was finishing up and getting ready to pay. The rest of the tables were empty. We sat down gave our drink orders and were told the lady would be right over to take our food order. During our wait another couple came in sat down and were able to place their food order before us. We then watched the server talk, take another order and pack it up to go, go in the back and get a drink, more standing around. We waited for almost 20 minutes and she only came over because we had to call out to her and ask if we could place our order. She was just standing there not doing anything. When she came to talk to us she was rude and defensive. No apologies. This is the second time we’ve gone there and the same server made us wait to place our food orders. The first time we had to wait 40 minutes from the time we got our drinks to the time we placed our food order. Again we had to ask her if we could order. Really disappointed that this is the service they give but the attitude is unacceptable. Won’t go back and will...

We came back for our third time in less than a week, this time for lunch. Ashley was our server and she was excellent! My wife had the burger and I had the pastrami melt. Both were very good. Our fries and onion rings were piping hot. I would have preferred them well done, but they were still good. You can't go wrong here!

My wife and I just moved to Star. We wanted to try a local restaurant so we came here for breakfast yesterday. Sheila was our server and she was absolutely wonderful! My wife had the Classic and I had the Veggie Omelette. They come with roasted potatoes and toast. The food was delicious. The coffee was pretty good, too. And the servings are ample and very reasonably priced. Sheila even gave us a hug as we were leaving.

We liked it so much we came back today, Sunday. My wife had the same while I tried the meat lovers skillet. Again, delicious, though I personally am not a fan of the sausage gravy. Even on Saturday and Sunday, we were still able to get a table, though the restaurant was busy. The Star Cafe will be one of our go to...

@ Danielle Rasmussen I've eaten all kinds of foods all over the world in lots of different settings. Star cafe is exactly what it should be. Telling people like me to go explore real food is ridiculous (candlelight dinner in a Croatian wine cellar anyone? Elephant ear fish fried up in a river delta in Vietnam? Another candlelight pasta dinner in what the locals called the jungle outside Puerto Vallarta accessible only by boat? It's almost a certainty that Danielle doesn't travel as much as we do. We try to get out of the country at least twice a year). I try to meet friends there once every couple weeks for breakfast and the service has always been good to great. Food is what a lot of people call comfort food and it is good. I typically ask for smaller portions because their portion size is huge. What have you got to lose, a few bucks? Try it, if you don't like it, move on to one of your favorites. If you like it then you found a new place to go meet friends for pancakes. I'm going tomorrow at 8 in fact to meet 2...

I took my clients here for breakfast, and they loved it. Yummy, omelettes, pancakes, and eggs. The only reason I gave the atmosphere a 4 is because it can be very noisy especially if you are in the main dining room. The restaurant is small, so keep that in mind if you’re going for breakfast because you might wait for a while but it’s worth it. The staff is really nice. (Also, they don’t have any “fancy“ coffee, so if you’re looking for a latte, go over to Bordertown 😉) but if you’re looking for a good country breakfast, this is a great place.

Had breakfast today at the Star Country Cafe. This is an old fashioned place, nothing fancy here. The food was good except the home fries were dry and not much taste but, the chicken fried steak and gravy was really good. I had a vegetable omelet. It was made from liquid eggs which isn't my favorite but, most restaurants don't use fresh eggs anymore to save money. The vegetables were really good and my hash browns were good too. The serve started off poorly but, got better after abit. We will come back again.

My family and I are new to the area and my aunt recommended Star Country Cafe. This quaint little breakfast spot did not disappoint. All four of us loved our meals. My son isn't a huge fan of breakfast and he was raving about how much he loved his omelet. I was impressed with the kindness and warmth from the staff even more than I loved my food and my food was amazing. I see us becoming regulars here!
