We went in around 1:00 pm to order lunch/dinner for two of us. There were people in line and waiting for food but we thought we’d take a chance and order. I ordered the chicken breast bowl with veggies, hubby ordered the orange chicken with fried rice. We waited almost an hour. People who ordered after us were receiving their dishes so we were rather displeased and getting pretty angry. We kept asking where our food was and got little response. The kids are super sweet but very inexperienced. The manager finally came over and apologized and thanked us for our patience (which I had none of lol). Finally we just asked for our money back. The manager came out and apologized and after trying to explain why, he finally refunded our money. As that was happening, one of the cooks behind the counter yelled, “it’s done, it’s done.” We said it’s too late. We don’t have time to eat it now and don’t want to take it out as we had errands to run. While running our errands we felt bad for this new restaurant. They have only been open a few days, their training crew had just left (which we didn’t know) and they were all really nervous. We decided to go back a few hours later. We repaid for the two meals that were thrown out and bought two additional to take home for dinner. The manager was so grateful and apologetic for all that had happened. The food was delicious! Hot and cooked to perfection! We will definitely be making this a regular stop. They have vegan dishes as well. Giving a little help to a new restaurant in our little town is something I think we should all do. I have vowed to be a bit...
Read moreOpening day for the Star location today! I placed an online order at 3 pm, intending to pick it up at 5 pm. The app told me that they were too busy to get it ready by 5, but could do 5:15. I clicked "OK". Still, my order came up as being ready at 3:18 pm. So, I called and spoke with a young woman, who spoke with a man and over the phone told me they would change it to 5:15. I ordered the Grand Opening special: two teriyaki chicken bowls for $6 each.
I show up at 5:15. At 5:20 I ask a young woman staffer about my order. She checks. A man with a ponytail (manager?; same guy that told us last week about opening day when we walked by) came up to me and asked specifics on my order. Then, he went to the receipt spike and started going through the receipts. He finally found my order and got it to me pretty quickly. I chalk it up to opening day hiccups. No big deal.
The bowls had substantial chicken and were flavorful. As for the veggies, mostly cabbage with strips of carrot and a single zucchini and broccoli. That is my beef (pun intended) about Teriyaki Madness: veggies mean almost all cabbage, and I don't like that. From now on, my wife and I will order the bowls with all broccoli for $1.50 extra.
Still, the staff were working hard and were still very nice, and it was opening day. They deserve some grace. We will...
Read moreWe are so happy to have a new good restaurant that isn’t fast food and has options for our family! We went in for the first time during the opening week and sat inside with our kids and friends. The wait was a little long, but to be expected as they were still training. The food was great! The staff was pleasant and helpful. I have some food allergies and usually try to plan ahead, but since I hadn’t been here before I had to ask the girl who was taking our order about some ingredients. She immediately answered the questions I had and the ones she didn’t know she asked the manager and the brought out there allergy information to double check and confirm. I really appreciated that! I can tell they care about their customers experience and tried to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed to enjoy our dinner! Since then we have had take out and the food was good and consistent . We will be...
