This is a small shop that seems to mostly exist for takeout or delivery with a third party. They do have seating for dine-in though, which seems odd given that I didn't see any bathrooms. There was only one door inside and it's for "staff only".
On the menu they claim to batter their food in house, and I'd agree on that. Not at all processed, which is great! I tried the chicken tenders, of which they give a generous portion. However, they had almost no flavor. It's a shame that there's too little seasoning in the batter, and absolutely no seasoning on the chicken itself. No rub, no marinade of the meat, nothing. Because of that the chicken wasn't very good. It wasn't tender, and had a strong "chickeny" taste (that taste you get when you overcook chicken or had it frozen and then cooked it without any seasoning).
It's a shame, because this place had promise. The fried chicken tenders looked amazing... just wished they tasted at least half as good as...
Read moreStopped into Cluck and Catch on a rainy day and was seriously impressed! I ordered the haddock plate, which came with two sides. I got the fries and mac and cheese. Everything was top-notch.
The haddock was massive, perfectly crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside, some of the best fried fish I’ve had locally.
The tartar sauce deserves its own shoutout: flavorful, tangy, and easily one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The mac and cheese was made with real cheese, seasoned beautifully (not spicy, just flavorful), and incredibly creamy. The fries were golden, crunchy, and just right.
The service was equally great! The guy at the counter was super helpful and kind, making the whole experience even better. The place was nearly full when I arrived, which speaks volumes.
Whether you’re a seafood lover or just looking for a great local spot to eat, Cluck and Catch is definitely worth checking out. I’ll...
Read moreStopped by this place for a snack. Overall a good experience…
Pros: Chicken tenders - cooked to order so they were hot & fresh when we received them. Dipping sauces - nice variety Fried haddock - good flavor without a lot of breading Banana pudding - made with sliced bananas & Nilla wafers. Excellent.
Cons: The restaurant was small so they didn’t have a lot of seating. The corn we ordered was cold. We ended up taking it home instead of eating it there. The Mac & cheese wasn’t good at all. Tasted sour & spoiled. The bathrooms are located in the restaurant next door. The staff took us through the kitchen before going through another door to the other restaurant. We didn’t feel comfortable going the same way back so we just went out the front door of the other restaurant then back to cluck & catch.
If I go again it would be for the chicken, fish, and banana...
